JNU Admission 2024-25: Jawaharlal Nehru University, commonly known as JNU is a public research university located in Delhi. JNU Admission 2024-25
As per NIRF 2024 Rankings, the university ranked no. 2 under the ‘University’ category and no. 10 under the ‘Overall’ category. The university has more than 15 schools through which various courses are offered in different specializations. NU admission 2024 to most of the programs is done through CUET, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JNU application process for UG and Certificate courses takes place via CUET.
JNU has announced that the admission in B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, B.Sc.-M.Sc. Integrated Programme in Ayurveda
Biology and Certificate of Proficiency Programmes for the academic year 2024-25 will be done through CUET (UG) 2024.
The admission to B.Tech. Programme of Jawaharlal Nehru University will be done through JEE Mains (JoSAA/DASA).

With a total of 20 schools and 10 centres, Jawaharlal Nehru university has a wide range of courses to offer. Various specialisations are offered by the students. 100+ courses are offered in the fields like sciences, arts, administration etc. In addition to this, diploma, PGD- postgraduate diploma courses, and certificate courses are also offered to students. JNU UG Admission 2024-25
The Jawaharlal Nehru University is offering admission to a number of undergraduate degree programmes in a number of fields of study. JNU PG Admission 2024-25
There are a number of postgraduate degree programmes which are offered by the Jawaharlal Nehru University as part of their admission process. Admission to the PG courses offered by the university is done on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in the CUET PG 2024 entrance examination conducted by the NTA. The online registration form for JNU PG Admission 2024-25 has not yet been released by the university on their official application portal.
MA, MSc, MCom, and MBA are some of the postgraduate degree programmes available at the university to be offered to the students. JNU Faculty Strength
JNU Delhi is such a large university that it has 567 teaching staff and more than 1000 non-teaching staff. The faculty strength is huge and around 550 teaching members are PhD holders from an institute that are well known in the country. Apart from the educational qualification, Jawaharlal Nehru university has more than 30 members who are highly qualified in their respective fields and have more than 15+ years of work experience. There are only some universities that have a student:teacher ratio of 1:10.
JNU Admission 2024-25 Scholarships
To promote educational opportunities and extend financial aid to students who are interested in studying but are not able to do so because of the financial problems they have. Such students coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds are offered scholarships at JNU. Merit cum means scholarships are given to students hailing from weaker sections of the society helping them with the financial support. Ford Foundation Scholarships- this scholarship is offered by JNU school of School of International Studies. This scholarship shall be granted to students who have taken admission in MA course. Amount of Rs 1700 is given per month to students who will get Ford Foundation Scholarships. More scholarship that JNU students are eligible to get Four G Parthasarathi Endowment Fellowships, Dr Sheila Zurbrigg Fellowship, Tendulkar Scholarship, Prof. Nurul Hasan Scholarship, Prof. MJK Thavaraj MCM Scholarship and D S Gardi Sanskrit Scholarship.
Exam Pattern of MA course:
The university conducts computer based examinations for the MA course and the exam carries 100 marks. The details are given below:
MA in Economics: Both types of subjective and objective examinations and the duration of this exam is 3 hours. For every wrong answer, the university conducts a negative marking.
MA in Arts and Aesthetics: An only subjective examination is conducted. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and it has 2 sections.
MA in language, literature, and culture studies: A total of 100 questions are contained in this examination. Both types of subjective and objective examinations and the duration of this exam are 3 hours. For every wrong answer, the university conducts a negative marking.
Procedure for checking the entrance examination result:
You need to visit the website of the university i.e., ntajnu.nic.in.
You need to click on the entrance examination result from the admission tab.
From the drop down menu, you need to select the program.
From the drop down menu, you need to select the field of study.
You can search the result by entering the application number or through the registration number.
After that, your scoreboard will open on your screen.
You should keep the printed copy of the result for the future.
JNU Results
Jawaharlal Nehru University follows a semester wise pattern. Two semesters are conducted at the university- winter and monsoon semester. The result is released as soon as the examinations are concluded. Jawaharlal Nehru University doesn’t delay the results of students and the results are up at the official website of the JNU university. All the students have to go to the official website and enter the required details to assess the results.
JNU Delhi Admission 2024-25
Jawaharlal Nehru university has more than 100 courses to offer for admissions. UG, Pg and doctoral level admissions are done based on JNUEE scores. While for UG admissions, from 2024, Jawaharlal Nehru university shall consider the CUET scores as per the NTA notice. 70% weightage is given to the written exam and the remaining 30% to the interview (in cases where it is applicable). There are various Kendriya Vidyalayas in India where the entrance examination of JNU is conducted. Every year, the university conducts the JNU entrance exam in the month of May. Each central university has usual reservation for SC/ST/OBC and reserved categories but in the JNU Delhi, there is also a reservation of 15% for foreign candidates.
BA Hons is only offered by the School of Language, JNU Delhi. Languages offered in the BA Hons course are Chinese, French, German, Korean, Persian, Pashto, Russian And Spanish. Students that are taking admission in the first year of BA need to appear for written examination- CUET and there is no viva voce for these candidates but students taking admission in the second year have to appear for an interview. To consider the students for admission, written examination scores, interview are taken into account. The admission process shall be different for every course for some, Jawaharlal Nehru university might take an interview but for some it might not.
JNU PhD Admission 2024
For admission to Ph.D. the candidates are invited for CBT examination and candidates qualifying in the CBT examination shall be called for viva voce Examination. Qualifying marks for the candidate belonging to General Category and EWS category is 50%. Whereas, qualifying marks for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD categories is 45%. It is to be noted that a candidate who scores 50% and above for General Category and EWS category & 45% and above for SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/PWD in the computer based test, does not automatically qualify for being shortlisted for the viva-voce. Please see point 3.4 for the maximum number of candidates to be called for viva voce.
Admission of JRF holders to Ph.D. programme: Only those candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for admission of candidates to Ph.D. programmes as mentioned in the respective schools/centres and have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship through CSIR, UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), ICMR, AYUSH, DBT examination are eligible to apply separately in the prescribed form under this category in the respective school/centre/Special Centre wherever separate intake through JRF category is available (the link for this category will be available on the JNU website). Such candidates shall be exempted from appearing in Computer Based Test (CBT).
Admission of GATE holders to Ph.D. programme in the School of Engineering Only those candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for admission of candidates to Ph.D. programme as mentioned for the School of Engineering and qualified for GATE fellowship are eligible to apply separately in the prescribed form under this category (the link for this category will be available on the JNU website). The intake will be as per the availability of number of fellowships and requirement of seats in the School. In case of candidates applying under GATE category, selection will be done on the basis of 100% viva score.
Eligibility for JNU phd admission: Master’s Degree holders (with adequate research experience and publications) and M.Phil. Degree holders are eligible for admission, provided they have scored a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grades [UGC Guidelines]. About the course: The Centre may prescribe courses to the candidate admitted under the Ph.D. programme. JNU PG Admission 2024-25
The Jawaharlal Nehru University offers admission to a number postgraduate degree programmes in various fields of study. The Jawaharlal Nehru University provides admission when you pass the CAT exam with good marks. Rs. 2000 will be charged by the JNU for general category students and Rs 1000 will be charged by the JNU university for the reserved category students. For undergraduate form fillup –
However students can register their name for the entrance by filling the application form along with submitting the application fee of Rs. 300/- through online payment method or offline method through demand draft (DD).
