MSU Baroda Admission 2026-27 Highlights

The Baroda College, founded in 1881 by Baroda State, served as the university’s foundation. Robert Fellowes Chisholm created the main structure, which houses the Faculty of Arts, in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style, fusing Indian and Byzantine arches and domes in brick and polychromed stone. The large dome of the Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur served as inspiration for the main dome of the convocation hall. According to the wishes of his grandfather, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, Pratap Singh Gaekwad of Baroda, the last Maharaja of the former Baroda State, established the Sir Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee and Memorial Trust in 1949 and established the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda to serve the educational and other needs of the residents of the former Baroda State.
