West Bengal State University was established in the year of 2008. The university has three departments – Science, Arts and Commerce. The University offers education in Science, Arts, Commerce and B.Ed. It also provides the facility of distance education.the motto of the University is “The goal is good”. it is situated in Berunanpukuria, Barasat, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is approved by UGC.

The University also provides placement to the students and has an individual placement cell. It provides training to the students for the overall development of their personality. Companies such as TCS, Larsen, Tech Mahindra and many more companies visit the university to hire the students. The university was established in 2007, currently, the university has collaborated with various Bose Institute, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences (IACS), Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Calcutta, Jadavpur, Vidyasagar, Tripura, and other Universities, National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune,  etc. •West Bengal State University is recognised by UGC – University Grants Commission.

WBSU UG Admission 2026-27

There are a number of undergraduate degree programmes which are offered by the university as part of their admission process. BA, BSc, BCom, etc. are some of the degree programmes which are offered as part of WBSU UG Admission 2026-27. WBSU UG admission will start online in July 2026. AT WBSU, the students will have a plenty of courses to study which include BA Bengali Hons, BSC zoology, BSC mathematics, BCOM, and BA Pol science. Students should have to attain 40% marks at least in HSC. Admission will be offered in WBSU on merit of qualifying marks. WBSU Admission 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

The West Bengal State University accepts students who fulfil certain basic eligibility criteria which the university has laid down. The basic eligibility criteria is the method through which the university shortlists students for admission to various courses which are offered by them. We have mentioned below the basic eligibility criteria for various courses which are offered as part of WBSU Admission 2026-27.

For UG Programmes: Candidates who are willing to opt for WBSU Admission 2026-27 to the undergraduate degree programmes offered by the university should have completed their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognised board. For admission to the BSc degree programme, the candidates should belong to the science stream.

For PG Programmes: Candidates who wish to pursue their postgraduate degree programmes from WBSU should have completed their Bachelor’s degree from an UGC approved university in the field they wish to do their PG in.

For the admissions in BA courses candidates need to complete their 10+2 examination from any recognized University.

Yet for the admissions in B.Sc courses candidates need to complete 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as their subjects from any recognized board with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.

Therefore, for the admissions in M.Sc courses candidates need to complete their Graduation Degree from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.

Whereas, candidates who are willing to apply for the M.Com courses need to complete their B.Com. (Hons.) From any recognized University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.

Candidates who are willing to apply for the MA courses need to complete their B. A. (Hons.) in the relevant subject with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.

Moreover candidates who are willing to apply for the Master of Rural Studies (MRS) courses need to complete their Bachelor’s degree with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.‘

Candidates who belong to SC/ST category must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply in Honors subject.

Candidates who are from CBSE Board or its equivalent from All India Boards are not required to submit the Migration Certificate for getting admission in this University.. 

WBSU Admission 2026-27 Process

Candidates who are willing to apply the admission process are need to follow the below following steps.

• Firstly, visit the official website of the University to fill the application form.
• Then, fill the application form properly with all the correct details.
• As well as the application form candidates need to pay the application fee of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 for SC or ST candidates through Cash or through Demand Draft.
