Tumkur University was established in 2004. It stands as one of the most reputed universities of Karnataka. It offers 24 post-graduation and 19 undergraduate departments. 

Tumkur University is referred as a State University that is established to serve the needs of the Education. The University consist of seventeen departments of Postgraduate Studies and Research in the faculties of Science and Technology, Arts, Commerce and Management. It also consist two Constituent Colleges, the University College of Arts and the University College of Science and more than eighty-six affiliated colleges.

The motive of this university to offer world-class education in various fields so that its students can serve well the nation and also meet with the global environment.

The University provides placement facility to its students. It has developed separate cell that manages all the activities related to placements. It also provides pre-placement training to both under graduate and post graduate students of the University. In the training provided by the University, the students are equipped with certain skillsets which are required for survival in the corporate world. Every year placement drives and campaigns are arranged at the university.

Tumkur University is open to admission for MBA/MCA courses. The last date for submission of the printed application form along with relevant documents is 24 February 2026. The date for the entrance examination is 27 February 2026.

Admission Counselling:

The counselors of the Tumkur University along with access authorities of the University conducted the admission counselling process. Only those applicants whose name appears in the merit list are eligible to take part in admission counseling. Admission procedure for: 

Tumkur University UG COURSES Admission 

● Applicants must have secured atleast 50% marks in relevant discipline from a reputed board. 

● Admissions shall be given on the basis of merit list. So make sure that every applicant can meet with the proper eligibility.  

● Shortlisted candidates are to visit the university for document verifications. 

Tumkur University PG COURSES Admission 

● Applicants must have a Minimum of 50% in graduation to be eligible for admission from a recognized unibversity. 

● Candidates shall be called for an entrance exam conducted by the university itself. 

● Candidates who clear the entrance exam will be called for an interview round; final list shall be released on the basis of overall performance. 

• For admission in PG courses, the score of the entrance exam and Bachelor’s course is considered.

Tumkur University Doctoral/PhD Courses Admission 

● Phd admissions are also given after clearing an entrance exam followed by a personal interview round which will be conducted by the university itself. 

● To be considered as eligible for PhD courses, candidates must have at least 55% marks obtained in master’s course. GATE / JRF / SLET scores for Ph.D. admission are also considered. 

Tumkur University PG Application Process 2026

● Visit State Bank of India branch of Tumkur University. 

● Pay the fees of INR 400 through challan and obtain the application fees receipt and the prospectus. (INR 200 for SC/ST/CAT – 1) 

● For every additional course, candidates must pay the registration fees again by a new challan. 

● The candidate must mark the category under which he/she is applying. 

Tumkur University UG APPLICATION PROCESS 2026

● Applicants can obtain the application form from the state bank of India tamkur branch after paying Rs. 250/- as charges for the form (Rs. 125/- for SC/ST), or via post by sending a self-addressed envelope to “Registrar, Tumkur University, Tumkur” attached with a demand draft in favor of “Finance Officer, Tumkur University, Tumkur”. 

Every year the fees change as per the guidelines of the university. The students must confirm the application fees before paying them. The application fee varies according to the caste categories.

● The filled in application form, along with the necessary documents, is to be sent at, “The Director, UG Departments of Studies & Research, B.H.Road, Tumkur-572 101.” 

Tumkur University Doctoral Application Process 2026

● The applicants must fill the application form and submit it along with all the required documents and demand draft of Rs.1500/- (Rs.750/- for SC/ST/physically challenged) in favor of “Finance Officer, Tumkur University, Tumkur” 

● For below mentioned courses, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, English, History and Archaeology, Sociology, the form is to be sent to: “Chairperson, Tumkur University, Tumkur -572103” 

IMPORTANT DATES: Last date for submission of application form; Jul, 2026 Announcement of OMNIBUS MERIT LIST; Jul, 2026 Counseling sessions for (M.Sc. Courses)/ (M.A. / M.S.W. Courses)/ (M.Com. Course) 26 July-28 July 2026. 

Forgot Username / Password 

If the candidate forgets the username or password, it can be recovered. Follow the steps given below.

• Visit the portal- https://uucms.karnataka.gov.in
• Click on Forgot Username / Forgot Password
• The home page will be displayed. Click on the radio button.
• Select Yes or No for the Indian student option
• Enter the registered mobile number and Captcha, and click on Generate OTP.
• Enter OTP and click on Submit.

Tumkur University Admission Fees payment

After the Document Verification is successful, you can pay the admission fees online or offline. 

Select the mode of payment.

If you are paying the fees offline, you can pay through bank challan and submit a copy of the fee Challan / Receipt on the portal.
