Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is conducting admission for their UG and PG programs through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in 2026. The registrations for CUET UG 2026 have been reopened, with the last date to submit the application form being April 11. The exam will be held from May 21 to May 31, 2026.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan was established in the year 1970 for developing and encouraging Sanskrit learning and research.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, established as Deemed University. The motive of this university to promote the language of Sanskrit among students and provide them a better knowledge by excellent teaching facilities.

Admission:
The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan provides admission through online mode and also provides admit cards. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan B.A & M.A Admission process:
The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan offers Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programmes in Sanskrit Literature.
- The University offers B.A- Sanskrit Literature with a duration of 3 years. There is six semesters of the course in which seven papers each semester.
- The first thing a candidate needs to remember is that he/she should pass Madhyama of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan or an equivalent examination that is considered by the board.
- Similarly, for M.A- Sanskrit Literature, candidates should pass Shastri of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan or an equivalent examination which will be considered equally important with good marks.
- Second, the M.A program comes with a duration of 2 years. It has two semesters and there shall be five papers each semester.
- Additionally, for this program, the performance by the candidate in the Interview is also considered.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan B.Ed & M.Ed Admission process:
The University offers Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) and Master of Education(M.Ed) with course duration of 1 year and 2 years respectively.
- Candidates applying for B.Ed & M.Ed have two different Entrance exams.
- For B.Ed, candidates have to appear in CSSET, likewise, for M.Ed, candidates have to appear in CSAET.
- Additionally, for B.Ed, candidates with B.A in 10,+2 in Sanskrit or Acharya(M.A-Sanskrit) with a minimum of 50% marks will be considered.
- Similarly, for M.Ed, Shiksha-Shastri/B. Ed in Sanskrit with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and 50%, in theory, will be considered equally important.
- For SC/ST applying for M.Ed course, University offers 5% concession in relaxation of marks.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan PhD & D.Litt Admission process:

In order to apply for PhD, candidates should appear in an entrance test-Combined Vidyavaridhi Entrance test(CVVET).
However, if candidates have a valid score in NET/JRF/Lectureship test/SLET or M.Phil Degree in Sanskrit, they can be exempted from CVVET entrance test.
Period of Research and Re-Registration
- If the thesis is not submitted by the period of six years, then research scholars can re-register themselves by paying the registration fee of Rs. 20,000/- which is compulsory.
- The thesis is not submitted by the research scholar, his/her registration will automatically be canceled if again they failed within the one year of date of re-registration.

To be eligible for PhD, candidates with a minimum of 55% mark especially in M.A or Acharya from Sansthan or any recognized University will be considered.
For D.Litt-Sansthan, candidates with Vidyavaridhi(PhD) Degree of the Sansthan or an equivalent degree in Pali, Sanskrit or Prakrit from any recognized University will be considered equally important.
