The University is situated in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and it is a premiere institute of agricultural research and education in India. In 1975, the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology formally came into being, but its origins can be traced back to when it was only a small school as early as 1893. It has offered various courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. There are eight college in the university i.e. Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Home Science, Engineering & Technology, Dairy Technology, Plant Biology & Biotechnology, and Fisheries. The target student population is mainly farmers, and the goal of the university faculty is to provide basic training for farmers to engage in effective and scientific agricultural work.
