Berhampur University Admission 2026-27: Berhampur University is a non-profit public higher education Institute. This university was set up in Odisha in the year 1967. It spreads over 250 acres and affiliated to UGC. It has also been accredited by NAAC with an “A” grade. This university offers many courses and programs in Science, humanities, business studies, and diploma courses. It also provides some add-on courses such as; Communicative English, Computer Skills, and Personality Development. The university also provides distance education.

Admission to various courses which are offered as a part of Berhampur University Admission 2026-27 is done on the basis of the merit list prepared by the university considering the marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying examination. The university will be releasing the online registration form on their official website in the month of June 2026. Candidates who wish to opt for Berhampur University Admission 2026-27 must ensure to submit the online registration form before the last date.

• If a candidate wants to take admission that first login to the official website of this university i.e. https://www.bamu.nic.in/
• Thereafter fill the application form as per the guidelines.
• Application fee payment will be through online mode.
• The admission procedure for Research Programmes will be based on an entrance exam that is conducted by the university itself.

School of Science

Courses: Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic Science, Marine Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Pharmacy.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Graduation or equivalent degree in relevant subject with minimum 55% of marks in for General & OBC candidates and minimum 50% marks in for SC/ST candidates.

School of Humanities

Courses: History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, English, Odia, Journalism & Mass Communication, Home Science, Law, Linguistics, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management and School of Education.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: A candidate should have a graduate or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in aggregate for reserved category.

School of Business Administration

Courses: Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Financial Management, Accounts and Marketing Management.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Should have a graduate degree in relevant subject with at least 60% marks and for MBA programs should have a valid score card of CAT/MAT/XMAT/GMAT.

Pharmacy

M.Pharm

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Must have a graduate degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.

M. Tech

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: B.E. /B. Tech. in relevant subject with minimum 50% of marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

Courses: Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Add on courses

Eligibility: Should have a graduate degree from a recognized University.

Research Programmes

M.Phil.

Duration: 1 year

Courses: Science, Humanities, Management, Engineering and Pharmacy.

Eligibility: A candidate should have a Postgraduate degree in relevant subject from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks for unreserved category and 50% marks for reserved category. The admission procedure will be based on the performance of the entrance test.

Ph.D.

Duration: Full time

Eligibility: A candidate must possess a post-graduate degree and an M.Phil. degree in relevant subject from a recognized university. The admission procedure will be based on entrance exam followed by personal interview.

Courses: Science, Humanities, Management, Engineering and Pharmacy.

Self finance Programs:

The university has offered self finance courses which are based on Semester pattern under CBCS scheme for the academic session 2026-27. Following has given the list of self-finance courses as well as duration and seats availability:

M.Sc. in Biotechnology: 4 semesters and 20 seats.

MBA (Financial Management): 4 semesters and 32 seats

M.Pharma: 4 semesters and 15 seats

Berhampur University Admission 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

Admission into various PG courses will be given through common PG Entrance Test (CPET-2026) that is conducted by the Odisha State Higher Education Council, Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. Candidates are requested to visit https://pg.samsodisha.gov.in/ for the online common application form, common prospectus and other relevant information.

For MCA, MBA and M.Pharm.: Admission in these courses will be done through Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE-2026)

General Information:

The university follow the rule of 75% attendance. Candidates have to follow this rule because they can appear to the university examination. If university finds any shortage in attendance then that student can be debarred to sit in the examination.
