Every year around 82000 students across the nation would be benefited from those scheme. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to the students. This scheme is designed by the Indian government and will be implemented throughout India. The government will be awarding financial grants to 5500 applicants every year. In order to apply for the Prime Minister Scholarship desw gov in, you must ensure to fulfill certain basic eligibility criteria set by the offering authority. • Candidate must be the ward of Ex-Servicemen/Widows of Ex. servicemen (Army, Navy, Coasts Guards, Air force, and other military martyrs), or a family member of a former soldier, who suffered from any injury and hence became disabled.
• Candidates must have passed 10th/12th/Diploma from a recognized board/institution/university and need to have at least 60 percent marks in their last educational exam.
• Students must have completed their education from any University approved by AICTE/UGC/MCI.
• The applicant’s minimum age should be 18 years and the maximum age should be 25 years.
• Students who are willing to pursue courses like BE, B.Tech., BBA, BCA, BDS, MBBS, B.Ed, B.Pharm., etc are eligible under this scheme.

Candidates who have completed their masters via any distance learning program or from abroad are not eligible to apply.

DESW Rewards:    

The scholarship amount which the candidates who have registered for DESW Scholarship 2024 varies on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in their 10+2 examination. These amount will be disbursed to the account of the candidates subject to the verification of the documents provided by the eligible candidates.

• The candidates who have passed 12th with a minimum of 75% marks will be getting a scholarship reward of INR 1000 per month.
• Students who have scored 85% marks or more in 12th will get the scholarship of INR 25,000 per annum.
• Students doing 4 to 5 years professional course will get a scholarship amount of INR 2000 per annum. 
• Renewal of the scholarship will be done by submitting bonafide to DESW board on given dates for boys and girls. 

Benefits:

The scholarship’s main aim is to offer financial support to the students who are unable to afford their higher education. This generous initiative by our PM will allow them to pursue their education without facing any hurdles. Hence financial constraints will not pose any difficulty in the way of a student wanting to realize his/her dreams. The Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2024 will be offered for a time duration of 1 to 5 years to each candidate, depending on the courses they are willing to pursue. 

How the candidate is selected for the Scholarship?

The Ministry of Home Affairs selects the candidates for the PM Scholarship. Some of the categories are defined below:

• First priority is given to those candidates who are the wards and widows of CAPFs & AR personnel that were killed during the action
• Second priority is given to those candidates who are the wards and widows of CAPFs & AR personnel who got disabled during the action
• Third priority is given to those candidates who are wards and widows of CAPFs and AR personnel who died by providing the service to the government 
• Fourth priority is given to those candidates who are the wards and widows of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel who got disabled while serving the Government

Where will the rewards be credited?

The amount which students receive for the scholarship will be transferred in their bank account on yearly basis via ECS.

But there is one condition, students must have a savings bank account in any of the following bank:-

• Indian Bank
• Maharashtra Bank
• UCO Bank
• Union Bank
• United Bank of India, and many more

The students must note that the bank account must be active. If the account is of a minor type, the students must change it to a major type.

If you fill application form for more than one course, it will be rejected.
The aadhaar card and the mobile number must be linked to the bank.

The account should be valid. Note that you must enter the correct bank account number while filling out the form. If the bank account number is wrong, the authority will not be responsible if the money gets transferred to another account.

Department of Ex-Service Men Welfare (DSEW) invites all eligible students to apply for the scholarship under PMSS DESW. This course is only applicable for undergraduate courses and certain postgraduate courses. It is mandatory for a student to secure at least 50% marks in the first year of their course for them to keep receiving financial aid.

This Department of Ex-Service Men Welfare (DSEW) scholarship secures the life of the children of Ex-Service Men. Now the children and their families do not need to worry as all the educational expenses are considered in the DSEW scholarship.

How to apply for DESW Scholarship 2024?

The online registration form for DESW Scholarship 2024 will be released on the official website of the authority. Candidates who wish to register for the scholarship must ensure to submit the online registration form. • Attach all mandatory documents along with the form.

DESW Documents to be attached with the application form

There are certain documents which are to be presented at the time of registration for any scholarship program. The documents for different scholarships vary as per the scholarship the candidate is opting for. Each applicant can only fill the form for this scheme for a single course.

Application Form: The application form of PM Scholarship is divided into two parts.

In the first part, the candidates have to compulsorily fill in the details such as category, first name, middle name, surname, service number of ESM, Type of service of ESM, Rank of ESM, Concerned RSB, Date of Birth, Date of Enrolment, Date of Discharge, Date of Death, Father’s/ Husband’s Name, Email- ID, and Mobile number.

After filling all the details your registration will be complete and then you will attach the required documents with the form. 

The required documents are mentioned above. After filling out the DESW scholarship form, the students cannot alter the form after it is submitted. Hence, the students must fill out the form carefully.

If there is any error in the application form, the form will be rejected straightforwardly. The student may have to wait for a year to apply for the desw scholarship.
