VIT conducts a national entrance exam named as VITEEE or VITMEE which purely depends on the course the applicant wants to pursue. The VITEEE will provide a gateway to all engineering programs in VIT and acts as an entrance test for admission. The application of exams has to be done before December and the exams will be held in May.

Moreover, Candidates can apply for any of the programs available in either online or offline mode. The exam fees are INR 1500 for online mode and INR 1200 for offline mode. However, The University selects students based on merit lists. Selection is strictly based on the scores obtained in VITEEE or VITMEE. The qualifying students have to attend counseling. Eligibility Criteria of VIT, 2026

• For admission in Btech students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• For B.Com and BBA, candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 60% marks.
• Candidates who wish to pursue a B.Sc program must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with an aggregate of at least 60% marks.
• Admission to B.Com, BBA and B.Sc programs will be offered based on merit in the qualifying examination.
• For MCA, students must hold a BCA, B.Sc (IT/ Computer Science) degree with Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 10+2 or Graduation with an aggregate of at least 60% marks.
• Admission to MCA is on the basis of  performance in VITMEE
