Uttarakhand Sanskrit University is also known as USVV. This is a state-run University located in Haridwar. It was established in 2005 and is approved by UGC, USVV also has, many affiliated colleges within and outside state. In total 44 colleges are affiliated by Uttarakhand Sanskrit University known as USVV.

The University offers education in Veda-Vedang, Sahitya-Sanskriti, Adhunik Gyan-Vigyan, Philosophy and Education.

There are different facilities offered to its students such as Library, Hostel, Spritual Centre, Health Center and Canteen facilities.

There is hostel facility for boys and girls with all basic need. The university offers only full time residential courses and distance education is not part of the academics. Admission to most of the courses is done on the basis of merit secured in the qualifying examination.

USVV COURSES AND THEIR ELIGIBILITY

• B.A Shastri: As this is a bachelor’s course, eligibility of the course is that the aspirants should have marksheet of his/her high school along with minimum passing marks i.e. 40%. For details you may visit the official link of the university.
• B.Ed.: As this is one step additional to the bachelor’s course, eligibility of the course is that the aspirants had done his/her graduation in Sanskrit and hold a valid certificate of that.
• B.Lib.Sc.: As this is a bachelor’s course, eligibility of this course is that the aspirants should have marksheet of his/her high school along with minimum passing marks i.e. 40%. For details, you may visit the official link of the University.
• Post Graduate Diploma: As this is one step additional to the bachelor’s course, eligibility of the course is that the aspirants should have his/her graduation marksheet.
• B.JMC: For this course aspirants must have passed graduation in any stream with minimum 40% marks aggregate from the recognised university.
• MA: For admissions in this course, candidate must have passed graduation from a recognised university. Specialization offered in MA is; Yoga, Journalism, Philosophy, History, Education, Hindi and Bhasha Vigyan, Veda, Jyotish.
• PhD: A candidate must be a postgraduate degree holder form a recognised university with minimum 55% of marks for admissions in PhD.
• M.Phil For M.Phil. Admissions, a candidate must be a postgraduate degree holder from a recognised university. Specialization offered in M.Phil. Is; Sanskrit Sahitya, Navyavyakaran Jyotish, Yoga, Hindi, Bhasha Vigyan.

USVV Admission in Ph.D.:

• Candidates must have a valid PG degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade from a recognized university.
• Candidates who are appearing in the PG degree may also apply to this course.
• SC/ST candidates who are domicile of Uttarakhand will have given the relaxation of 5% of marks.

NOTE: – For B.Ed. Shiksha Shastri admission application fee will be:

General Category: INR 600/-

SC/ST Category: INR 300/-
