University of Gour Banga Admission 2024-25: The online application form for UGB Admission 2024-25 will be released on the official website in the month of May 2024. The university has its own application portal where it will release the online registration form. Candidates who wish to pursue their degree programme from University of Gour Banga must ensure to submit the online registration form before the last date.
University of Gour Banga is located in West Bengal. It is a public state university with the Motto of ‘keep walking’. The university is affiliated with UGC and NAAC. Candidates can check out the official site of the university which was launched in 2008 http://www.ugb.ac.in/ The university’s mission and the aim is to educate equally all the backward and social classes without any discrimination and distinction. Many famous personalities are alumni Of this university such as Tapan Sikdar, Sabina Yasmin, Biswanath Chowdhury, etc. The University wishes to grow further as a diverse and socially responsible learning community, providing a high-quality of scholarship and equal opportunity for all.
The University of Gour Banga has a total of 23 postgraduate departments which include the Department of Law, Library and Information Science, Physiology, Mass Communication and Journalism, and Food and Nutrition.
Courses are offered in three faculties i.e. Arts & Social Sciences, Science and Commerce. The University has separate placement cell that facilitates students with job opportunity. The placement cell enhances the personality and skills of the students in the university. There are other facilities such as Gym facility, Hostel facility, Sports facility etc.

University of Gour Banga Course fees
- For MCom the total fee is ₹5,800 per year.
- For Master of arts the total fee of the year is ₹5,800.
- Students who wish to pursue PhD the total fee for them is ₹25,000 Per year.
- Total fee for the year of the course M.Phil is ₹48,200.
- Total fee for LLM students per year is ₹5,600 Per year.
UGB Admission Procedure
- Candidates who are seeking admission should visit the official website www.ugb.ac.in
- Fill all the correct details in the application form.
- Upload required documents, passport size photograph and signature in the JPG format.
- Make a payment of application form through debit card/credit card/net banking.
- Take a print out of application form for future response.
Documents required at the time of admission
The students must be aware that they have to bring the following documents at the time of admission to the University without fail. The University accepts the following documents only.
- Class Xth Mark Sheet and Certificate
- Class XIIth Mark Sheet and Certificate
- Passport Size Photograph
- Admit Card
- Application Fee Receipt

UGB Eligibility criteria for different courses
- Candidates who wish to pursue LLM should have completed their LLB and should hold a degree in that specific field.
- Candidates who wish to pursue M.Sc. Students should have completed their graduation and should hold a bachelor’s degree in that particular field.
- Aspirants looking to pursue B.Ed should complete their graduation and should hold a bachelor’s degree.
- For M.A. candidates should have completed the bachelor’s programme and should hold a graduation degree.
- The candidates who want to pursue the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) must complete a bachelor’s degree with at least 45% in the relevant field.
- For M.Com Candidate’s graduation should be completed and should have a bachelor’s degree.
UGB admit card:
Students should take care of the following steps while downloading the admit card.
- Go through the official website of the university.
- Candidates will see a portal of ‘admit card’ shown on the website through which they can download their admit cards.
- The students will have to login the registration number and click on submit to download the admit card.
- The admit card of the candidate will load on the page, The admit card contains various information of the candidate such as examination centre, name, date of birth, etc.
- Check the admit card in detail and if any problem occurs contact the official administration of the university immediately.
- The candidates will have to take out the printout of the admit card, The candidate should have at least two printouts of the admit card for future references.
- The candidates must bring the admit card to the entrance examination without fail. The admit card consists of the details of the candidates.
UGB Scholarships:
The University provides the following various scholarship to students:
- Candidates who are from SC/ST/OBC categories must have to provide a community certificate while opting for scholarships.
- Different types of scholarships include the category wise scholarship, talent scholarship, girls scholarship, etc. The students can avail of only one scholarship at a time. The notification regarding the scholarship program will be given on the main website of the University Of Gour Banga.
