Thiruvalluvar University Admission 2026-27: The online form for registration for admission to the courses offered by Thiruvalluvar University will soon be released by the university on the official website. The anticipated deadline for submitting the online application for the Thiruvalluvar University entrance exam for the 2026–2027 academic year is May 5, 2026. Candidates from the General Category will have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 200 at the time of submitting the online registration form. Thiruvalluvar University was established in 2002 at Vellore by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The University offers various types of courses at different levels. The University runs programmes for full – time as well as part-time.
This University consist seven departments that are- Tamil, English, Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Bio-Technology.

- Eligibility Criteria:
- For Under Graduate Courses:
- Candidates must have successfully qualified 10 + 2 from any recognized board i.e. ICSE, CBSE etc.
- For Post Graduate Courses:
- Candidates of any age group can apply for the post graduate courses, there is no age limit.
- Candidates who have passed a three year degree course are not eligible to apply for the post graduate courses.
- Reservation:
The Thiruvalluvar University follows the criteria of reservation that is prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The number of seats are already reserved for some categories.
Thiruvalluvar University Admission Application Process:
The University has set a specific fees for the application form which the candidates had to submit before applying or filling the application form.
- Steps to fill the application form 2026 online:
- Candidates can download the application form from the official website of the University i.e. https://tvu.edu.in
- Self – attested marks certificate of the qualifying examination along with the fees and the filled application form, has to be submitted in the University in an envelope.
- The payment must be done through NEFT or RTGS mode. The payment should be done in the Indian Overseas Bank.

- Selection Process:
- In Post Graduate Courses:
Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying examination as well as on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance Test that is conducted by the University.
- Points to be noted for part time programme that is offered by the Thiruvalluvar University:
- Candidates should submit the service certificate and no objection certificate along with the application form.
- For M.Phil. Course, teachers who works in the college will be given the first preference. Teachers are required to bring the service certificate from the principal of the respective schools or colleges.
- The candidates who had scored less than 55% of marks and still got admission in M.Phil. Course, are not eligible for the teaching position which is prescribed by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and by the Government of the State.
Full time Research Scholars:
Candidates must qualified Master’s degree with not less that 55% of marks or CGPA of 5.51 in the relevant stream.
A relaxation of 5% of marks are allowed for those candidates who belong to SC/ST category. Candidates will be given monthly fellowship in this program.
Part time Research Scholars:
Candidates who pursuing this program are not eligible for the fellowship.
Important Information:
Along with the course selected by the candidate, if they wish to join any one of the Certificate or Diploma Courses simultaneously, then they should obtain separate prospectus that is prescribed for the Certificate and Diploma courses by paying Rs 100 in person or Rs 150 through post.
If a candidates want to seek admission in two or more courses then one can apply. For this candidate have to submit separate application form for each program.
Candidates who are applying online application form must have scanned images of relevant documents, passport size photograph and signature in the JPG format.
