COST INVOLVED IN ACCOMMODATION
When you choose to study in Canada, looking for the money that you will need for accommodation is a must. The universities in Canada generally provide on-campus accommodation to international students. For this, you will need around 8,000 CAD – 10,000 CAD (annually). Also, you can choose to live off-campus in shared apartments where you can share your apartment with other Indian students. This would involve an expense of around CAD400-CAD 700 per month. This also depends on the location you choose and the time of the city. The rentals also differ from city to city.
Other than these two options, you can also choose a homestay where you can stay with the host family and learn more about Canadian culture. This will involve around CAD 200 as the placement fee and around CAD 750 to CAD 950 for the room and the meals. In this case, you can also participate in the local activities with the host which will help you learn their culture more closely.
Other than these, the expenditure is in the form of the creation of a student visa and permit (approx. CAD 150), Living expenses in the form of buying groceries, social activities or some emergencies, and expenses involved in health support and insurance.
