Sido Kanhu Murmu University is a public university situated in Dumka, Jharkhand. It was founded in 1922 by an act of Bihar Legislative Assembly. The University is situated in one of the most backward regions of India. The University is committed to provide easy access to quality education to the poor students. Admission:
Sidho Kanhu University offers undergraduate courses such as B.A, B.Sc, B.A (Hons.), B.Sc (Hons.) and various postgraduate courses such as M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA.
UG Level:
At the UG level, the University offers various specialized and general courses such as B.A, B.Sc, and B. A (Hons.), B.Sc (Hons.). The eligibility criteria for admission in the UG courses is that the candidate must complete 10+2 (higher secondary education) and score at least 50% aggregate marks.
PG Level:
At the PG level, Sido Kanhu University offers courses such as MBA, MCA, M.Com, MA (Hons.), and B.Sc (Hons). The candidate must complete a bachelor’s degree from a recognized board with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks for admission in PG courses. The candidates must also qualify the required entrance exam.
Application Form:
Sido Kanhu University invites applicants to fill the application form through online mode for taking admission in the University. Offline applications are not accepted so far. The official dates will be released for the submission of application forms.
Admission Counseling:
After the merit list is prepared, counseling is done by the university which is the final step in the admission process. At the time of academic counseling, the university counselor checks the original documents of the students. The students must present the original documents which are asked by the university.
Merit List:
According to the Merit List prepared by the authorities, selection process of the students is undertaken. The merit list consists of the names of the selected students only. Only the selected students are given admission to the university.

SKMU Eligibility Criteria
Sido Kanhu Murmu University has different eligibility criteria for both UG Level & PG Level and in order to get selected in the university, one need to meet all the criteria which are as follows:-
- UG Level
Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with one of these subject- Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational Subjects. Also candidates should score at least 50% marks and 45% for reserved category.
- PG Level
Candidate should have a Graduation Degree.
- For MBA and MCA
Candidates had to qualify MAT by AIMA and AIMCET examination or qualify the entrance examination held by the University.
- For M.A, M.Sc. and M.com
Candidates are selected on the basis of qualifying the entrance examination held by the University.
- Ph.D.
Offers 3 years full time
- Candidates must have the master degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 60% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities.
- For SC/ST Candidates, they should score at least 55%.
- Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Ph.D. written test conducted by the University followed by the Interview. Preference will be given to the qualified candidates in the given examination i.e. CGIR-NET, GATE or UGC-NET
