RGUKT-AP Admission 2026: Application Form, Last Dates & Eligibility Criteria

Here’s an update on RGUKT admission: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has released the exam dates for AP PGECET 2026. This exam is scheduled to take place from May 28 to 30, 2026, and will provide admission to postgraduate Engineering and Pharmacy courses like M.E./MTech, M. Pharma, and Pharm. D in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The University was created by an act of the Legislature in March 2008. It was formulated by the Gov.of. AP. It aims for the primary education of rural youth. The University is located in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. It has approved by UGC. Given below is the office address for your reference.

It aims to impart to each student broad skills of Learning to Learn, Learning to Think and Learning to Live. It functions as a resource center for knowledge management and entrepreneurship development in the emerging technologies.

The online Application form’s last date of submission was 19th September 2026. It offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs such as B.Tech, M.Tech & P.hd with different specializations. Specialization courses in B.Tech include Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc.

RGUKT-AP Admission Procedure 2026

The admission procedure for different courses are as follows:

1) B. Tech in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering – The eligibility criteria is the student has to score a minimum of 50% marks in their class 10th examination and will be further selected by counseling round during their final seat allotment.

2) MTech in Computer Science and engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Mechanical Engineering – The eligibility criteria is the student has to score a minimum of 55% marks in their B. Tech course and the admission is based on a valid score in GATE followed by counseling. Also, 80% marks in “Introductory course in computing” conducted by the university.

3) Ph.D. in engineering – The eligibility criteria is the student should have more than 7.5 CGPA in MTech in their postgraduation and for the ST/SC category more than 7 CGPA is required followed by a written test and interview.

4) Ph.D. in Science- The eligibility criteria is the student should secure first class master degree in M.A in the relevant branch with minimum 7 CGPA or an aggregate of 70% marks followed by a written test and interview.

Therefore, the university also conducts extra academic activities such as vocal music, Kuchipudi dance, mridangam, arts and yoga.

RGUKT Admission:

• The university will release an open notification every year, in the month of May/June.
• Details regarding eligibility, fee & scholarships are based on the regulation of AP Gov. 
• Admission to the two years PUC and four years B.Tech program will be based on merit in the RGUKT CET that will be converted in to GPA.
• The rules, guidelines and regulations will be issued by the Governing Council of RGUKT from time to time that should be followed for admissions along with reservation policy of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Course Structure:

Since the university offers an integrated course. For the first two years, the students are offered, three major courses. They are:

• Physics
• Mathematics
• Chemistry. 

For the next four years, the students are given an option for their B.Tech Course. They can opt for the specialization that, they wish to do. 

RGUKT Eligibility:

Aspirant who wishes to join the integrated course in this university should have completed the 10th. The first thing you need to check is, whether you are interested in joining a professional course. If your answer is yes, then this university is one of the good choices. Once you complete class 10, with good academic scores. You are eligible to select the B.Tech course in this institution. Where else for the M.Tech, you should have a bachelor degree in any one of these field

It can be from any recognized university. Your aggregate should be about 60% in your UG. Admission is based on merit and the score that you obtain in the GATE. GATE is nothing but, a general aptitude test conducted for the engineering students. It preliminarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. Candidate should also have completed the age of 18. In case if the aspirant is an SC/ST, the age limit is extended to 21yrs.

RGUKT Allocation of Seats:

• Local Candidates: 85%
• Open category ( both for Andhra Pradesh or Telangana): 15%

If in case, any two candidates have the same marks in class 10. The institution follows a tiebreaker. The university will check for these things to solve the similarity.

The application can be applied online. The application fee has to be borne by the candidate. Read the application carefully and fill in the mandatory details. Affix a passport size photo in the application. Finally submit the application form, either online or direct. 

RGUKT CET-2026:

The RGUKT CET 2026 test is to be held on 26th September, 2026. Timings – 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

There will be objective type questions (you will be given OMR sheet). This test consists of a total of 100 questions (each question carries one mark) with a time duration of 2 hours.
