Ranchi University is a public and state university that is affiliated by University Grants Commission (UGC). The University consists of 1 constituent colleges, 49 affiliated colleges and 23 PG Departments. The Ranchi University offers a wide range of academic programmes at both Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Doctorate Levels in all the areas of commerce, humanities, science, social science, medicine, education etc. It also offers Certificate courses, Diploma courses, PG diploma courses and several professional self-financing courses i.e. MCA, MBA, M.Sc. Ranchi University Fee Structure 2026-27
The University includes different eligibility criteria for different courses and students has to fulfill the eligibility criteria to apply for the admission.
M.Phill :- The candidate must have an M. Com./ M.Sc./ M.A. degree with 55% marks for General and OBC candidates. In case of SC/ ST candidates, the minimum marks obtained should be 50%.
M. Tech.:- The fee for this course is INR 46525 per annum. The candidate should have a B. Tech. degree.
Students can pay the fees through PNB or HDFC Portal. Following are the steps for online fees payment:-
Through PNB Portal:-
Students are required to visit the link. Then, they had to click on ‘click for student fee payment’ and there they will select the college or department, course, selection and semester from drop down list. Students will be asked to enter roll number and make the payment. After the payment, receipt will be generated.
Through HDFC Portal:-
If students had to make the payment through HDFC Portal then they had to visit the link i.e. Ranchi University Fees Payment System through HDFC Portal.

Under Student’s Portal, click on Online Fees Payment.
Follow the steps to pay the fees via the online payment system.
- The students should select Learning Centre/ College/ Department.
- Select Examination and enter the University exam roll number.
- Check the correct name, examination details, etc.
- Click on Submit details.
- Proceed for payment by selecting any one of the payment gateway.
- The students can download the fee receipt after successful payment.
- It is advised to print the receipt and store it for future use.
