Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is a public university located in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The entrance exam for Punjab Agricultural University 2026 is the Punjab Agricultural University Entrance Test (PAU CET).

Punjab Agriculture University commonly known as PAU was established in the year of 1962.

Since then it is situated in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

In general, the University is a Public University affiliated by UGC and ICAR.

This is the largest Agricultural University in Asia.

All the lecture rooms are equipped with multimedia projectors. Examination halls have air conditioners also has seating capacity of 200 candidates. Air- conditioned conference halls also have seating capacity of 200 persons. The computer lab at the university is well furnished and equipped with computers for students. The university also has a library which is considered to be one of the best libraries of the region. Initially the university had started with only 200 books and now has numerous books in the library. The library has 760 seating capacity in its Five Reading Halls and is surrounded by greenery which gives students a pollution free and comfortable environment to study in.

Eligibility Criteria of Punjab Agriculture University.

Accordingly, the University’s admissions are based on both the merits obtained from the previous qualifying exam as well as the entrance exam followed by a personal interview.

Now, for the admission in B.Sc courses candidates need to complete their 10+2 examination from any recognized Board in science stream with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.

In general, candidates willing to apply for the M.Sc courses need to complete their B.Sc program from any recognized University with atleast 60% in aggregate.

However, for the admission in PhD courses candidates need to complete their M.Sc in the respected subject with atleast 70% marks in aggregate and must complete B.Sc with atleast 55% marks in aggregate. Along with that admissions are based on the Entrance Exam as well as the Personal Interview.

Entrance Exam in Punjab Agriculture University.

• Now, for the admissions in B.Tech or B.Sc courses candidates have to qualify their CET entrance exam.
• However for the admissions in B.Sc (Architecture) courses candidates need to qualify their  AAT entrance exam.
• Whereas to the admissions in B.Sc (Fashion Designing) courses candidates have to clear their  DAT entrance exam.
• For B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) courses candidates need to complete their JEE Main entrance exam. On the basis of the score obtained from their exam they will be selected.
• Therefore for all the courses such as M.Tech/ M.Sc/ MJMV/ MBA/ MCA, candidates have to seat for the  MET entrance exam. Score obtained from the entrance exam will be valid for the admission process of the candidate.
• Also for the Ph.D. courses candidates need to clear the Written Test as well as the Personal Interview OR ICAR Score.

How to apply in Punjab Agriculture University?

• Firstly to fill the application form candidates need to visit the official website of PAU University.
• Then, fill the application form properly with all the required documents and pay the application fee of Rs. 5320 through online payment by Credit or Debit Card or through Net-Banking or through Bank Challan.
• Simultaneously take the printout of the filled application form and send it to the address mentioned below  with the transaction statement.

Documents requirements at the time of admission:

• Mark sheet and certificates of school level education 10th and 10+2 examination
• Degree certificate and mark sheet
• Admit card
• Photo identity proof
• Passport size photograph three or four
• Migration certificate (Candidates who are from other states)
• Transfer certificate
• Caste certificate issued by the State govt.
• Character certificate

Important Notes:

Only those candidates who belongs to Punjab or Union Territory of Chandigarh are eligible for seeking admission to all Under Graduate, Masters and Diploma programmes except for MBA programme for which 85 % seats are filled with those candidates who belongs to the state and 15% from other state candidates.

The admission to Ph.D. course is done on All India basis.

All the selected students are required to appeared for the counselling/ document verification/ interview process as per schedule. As, students who will not appear for this process, their admission will be cancelled.

Checklist for submission of application form:

The application form should be filled in one’s own handwriting.

The applicant must mention the category of which he/she belongs to SC/ST/OBC or Physically handicapped category.

Self attested copies of mark sheets and certificates should be attached with the application form.

Duly filled application form along with all the relevant documents must reach on or before the last date.
