National Museum Institute of History of Art or also known as National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology is deemed to be University which is approved by UGC. The University was established in 1989 and it is situated in New Delhi. It offers only Postgraduate and Doctoral level courses. Admission to this University is done through Entrance Test. For the students who wants to take admission in Postgraduation, the institute offers Master of Arts ( M.A) program in 3 specialization namely History of Arts, Museology and Conservation. This program is of 2 years duration.

22.5% seats in each program of study are reserved for Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe candidates (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST). 27% seats are reserved for OBC (NCL) and 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled candidates. After receiving the applications, the candidates will be short listed for the written test.

At Doctoral level, the institute provides Ph.D program of 3 years. This course is available in 2 streams namely History of Arts and Museology and Conservation.

The students of the National Museum Institute of History can make the fee payment in cash only.
The fees and deposits can be paid in cash or by Bank Demand Draft or cheque in favor of the Registrar, NMIHACM, New Delhi at Bank of Baroda.
The students will receive a fee book from which they can get all the detailed information after paying Enrolment Fee, Registration Fee, and Caution Money at the Institute Office.
