Candidates from a wide variety of academic fields are welcome to participate in the research courses provided by the NBRC. For the first two years of their fellowship, each candidate will receive a Junior Research Fellowship that provides them with a stipend of Rs. 31,000 along with HRA. After two years, candidates may be considered for a Senior Research Fellowship, which comes with a monthly stipend of Rs. 35,000 and HRA.
M.Sc. (Neuroscience)
The duration of this program is 2 years. During the first year, candidates have to undergo through one year course work and in the second year they have to select a lab to do full time research project. All the students are providing a fellowship of Rs. 12,000/- per month.

Admission procedure in National brain research center 2026.
According to the university, the last date of submitting the admission form is 30th April for both the procedure offline and online.
PROCEDURE OF APPLYING ONLINE: Visit the official website of The National Brain Research Centre from its online portal.

PROCEDURE TO PAY FEE OFFLINE: Candidates can grab their offline form from NBRC.

The payment mode for offline admission procedure is Demand draft to the name of the National brain research center. There is a different fee structure for all various courses.
- For general category: Online fee structure is 300/- INR together with offline is 350/- INR
- For other ST/SC/PH category: Online fee is 150/- INR together with 200/- INR for offline mode.
HOW CAN I BE ELIGIBLE FOR TAKING ADMISSION IN NATIONAL BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE
Candidate must hold at least 55 % into their previous academics as well as candidates should have to keep 55% in their 10th standard.
They conduct a particular entrance exam which holds for especially Ph.D. and PG courses such as MSC in various streams.
- The entrance exam for biology and interdisciplinary life science is known as (JGEEBILS), which was previously organized in the last year 2019.
- The available entrance test for engineering is known as GATE, which has done for every kind of engineering Information technology, computer engineering together with Instrumentation engineering.
- If you want to do the course in junior research, then you should have followed the entrance exam of CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR.
- They also provide the benefit of the joint exam entrance exam together with the admission will confirm with the interview for MSC Post graduation and Ph.D. students.
- If candidates want to take admission in MSC neuroscience, so, they should hold Indian nationality for being eligible for entry.
- The reservation category will go under another facility, which is provided by the government.
Merit list and counseling:
The National Brain Research Center (NBRC) publishes the merit list on its website. The university advised the students to download the merit list from here to check their names because the university does not send any results through the post. You can download the merit list by entering the login details. The university selects the students for admission who are able to attend the counseling round. The time, date, and venue of the counseling round are provided by the university on the official website. Always select the appropriate center and pay the extra fee for attending the counseling round. You can download the merit list through the following process:
- First of all, visit the website of the National Brain Research Center (NBRC).
- From the drop-down menu, select the student’s corner.
- Now click on the link for downloading the merit list.
- The PDF will open after entering the login details.
- Save the PDF file for the future and keep a printed copy.
