The MOMA scholarship is specially designed for the minority community in India such as Christian, Jainism, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, etc.
MOMA Scholarship 2024: MINISTRY OF MINORITY AFFAIRS : The Prime Minister’s new 15 point program for the welfare of minorities was announced in June 2006. The scheme is funded by the Ministry Of Minority Affairs through the states or the UT administration. This scheme provides scholarships to meritorious students. The objective is to provide financial assistance to the students and help them get employed.
MOMA Scholarship 2024
- A pre-matric and a post-matric scholarship programme for the minority community candidates who need a financial amount to grow and get educated.
- The candidates must belong to the category of Christian, Jainism, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi and so on.
- These scholarship programmes are designed for candidates who want to pursue a technical course.
- These candidates will receive 20,000 INR from the government for their education. The total candidates per year receive at least 3000000 lakh pre-matric scholarship every year.

Minority community comprises of Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, and Jain religions. MOMA helps in the formulation of policy and keeping a check on regulation and its coordination.
The minority community can avail of Pre-matric scholarships, Post-matric scholarships, Merit-cum-Means scholarships for Professional and Technical courses. The Government of India intends to disburse 30 lakh scholarships under the pre-matric scholarship scheme, 5 lakh scholarships under post-matric scholarship scheme and 60000 scholarships under merit-cum-means scholarships.

The benefit of PRE- MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR MINORITIES is that the selected students get financial assistance. The admission or the tuition fees and the maintenance allowance are waived off under this scholarship.

MOMA Scholarships – ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA
Pre- matric scholarship scheme for minorities
- Students should be studying in class 1 to 10
- Students should have scored at least 50% marks in the previous examinations
- The annual income of the family from all the sources should be less than INR 1 lakh.
Post – matric scholarship scheme for minorities
- Candidate must be a student of class 11 or class 12
- Students pursuing any technical or vocational course of ITI/Industrial Training from affiliated centres.
- Students pursuing polytechnics and other courses can also apply
- Minimum cutoff marks are 50%
- The family income must not exceed INR 2 lakhs
Merit-cum- means scholarships for Professional and Technical Courses CS
- Students pursuing technical or professional courses at the graduate or postgraduate level are eligible.
- Students should have got equal to or more than 50 % marks in previous final exams.
- The annual income of the candidate’s family must be less than or equal to 2.5 lakhs.

MOMA SCHOLARSHIPS – APPLICATION PROCESS
The application can be found on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). https://scholarships.gov.in/
If the students are eligible for any scholarship they can apply the following manner:

- You will have to provide correct information about :
- Educational qualifications
- Aadhar number
- School/ college enrolment number

- State of domicile (this is necessary for the generation of ID)
- Now the Id will be generated.

- Carefully fill the details – name, date of birth, Email ID, identification details, and mobile number.
- Upload the necessary details and submit the application form.
BANK DETAILS
Carefully select your bank and branch name from the drop-down list. This bank account should be registered in your name. Use the verified account number and IFS code. Verification can be done from your respective bank branch. Your account should be linked with KYC (KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER) to get the scholarship reward. Make sure you have a single account and not a joint account. As the concerned authority may reject the joint account holder’s bank documents. The candidate must note that the bank account must be of a nationalized bank only.

MOMA SCHOLARSHIP – SELECTION PROCESS
The selection of candidates is done based on:
- Economic status
- Age of the student ( the older one is preferred)
- For Merit-cum-means scholarship for professional and technical courses CS, a merit list is prepared. The higher ranker is preferred.
MOMA SCHOLARSHIP – RENEWAL POLICY
For the renewal, the candidate is required to submit a certificate of proof that the individual has secured at least 50% marks in the previous exams. This is helpful in the renewal of the scholarship in the same course.

The money amount is provided for the entire course. The maintenance allowance for the full year is given together.
MOMA SCHOLARSHIP – RESULTS
The results are given during November and December after the completion of application verification and scrutiny.
MOMA SCHOLARSHIP – REWARDS
Students who get selected for these minority scholarships will receive financial assistance for the full course in the form of admission, tuition fees, and in the form of maintenance allowance. Total duration for the maintenance allowance period is 10 months. Given below are the amount for the scholarships under different schemes:
- Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities:
- For class 6 to 10
Admission fee will be provided of Rs 500 per annum to day scholars as well as to hostellers.
Tuition fees will be provided i.e. rs 350 per month to both day scholars and hostellers
They will also be provided with maintenance allowance i.e. Rs 600 per month to day scholars and Rs 100 per month to hostellers
- For class 1 to 5
To these students maintenance allowance will be provided of Rs 100 per month to day scholars
- Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities:
- To students of class 11 and 12, admission and tuition fees will be provided of Rs 7000 per annum to both hostellers and day scholars.
- Students of class 11 and 12 studying courses like technical and vocational will get Rs 10000 per annum to both hostellers and day scholars.
- Students of UG and PG Level admission and tuition fees of Rs 3000 will be provided.
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS:
Course Fee of Rs 20000 will be provided to both day scholars and hostellers. Also maintenance allowance will be provided of Rs 1000 per month to hostellers and Rs 500 per month to day scholars. For receiving Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses, the candidate must score at least 50% in the previous qualifying exam. The annual family income must be less than INR 2,50,000.
MOMA SCHOLARSHIP – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
There are strict terms and conditions which the ministry follows. These are for the benefit of the minority community.
- There is a reservation for girl students of the minority groups. 30% of seats are reserved for them. But if the seats aren’t filled, male candidate of the same community is given the scholarship.
- Per family 2 students can apply for scholarships.
- Students should be regular in attendance
- The student should show disciplined behavior at all times in the institute. Failing to do so may lead to cancellation or suspension.
- Information provided for the scholarship should be correct in all aspects.
- The candidates receive the scholarship amount in the bank account registered in their name.
- Only one MOMA scholarship can be availed at a time.
