Post graduate admission of the Malayalam University
Post graduate admissions of this university are done on the basis of an entrance examination. The university offers a wide range of courses within it’s Masters, Diploma and doctorate programmes.
- If the candidate wishes to pursue the MA programme, He/She should hold the BA programme degree.

Malayalam University Admission 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria
> M.A. courses
- The candidates should have a UGC recognized degree which is a pre-requisite for pursuing an M.A. course.
- The eligible candidates will be required to give an entrance test which will be of 1 hour.
- Candidates can apply for maximum two courses and give two separate tests for such courses.
- Application fee for course 1 will be ₹350/- and for course 2,3 it will be ₹700/-.
- Application fee for the reserved category (ST/SC/Backward classes and differently abled) for course 1 Will be ₹150/- and course 2,3 it will be ₹350/-
- There will be an entrance examination for all the registered courses which will consist of questions aggregating to a sum total of 100. 20% of the questions will be objective-based and the rest will be descriptive based.
- To pass the examination the candidates should acquire at least 40% of the total marks. The judgement of the overall marks will be done on the basis of a 50:50 ratio. 50% will be calculated on the basis of your degree examination and 50% will be calculated on the basis of your aptitude test.
> M.Phil courses
- Candidates should have acquired at least 55% of their marks in the master’s degree examination. For the reserved category it would be 50%.
- The judgement of the overall marks will be done on the basis of a 50:50 ratio. 50% will be calculated on the basis of your masters degree and the rest 50% will be calculated on the basis of your aptitude test examination.
> Ph.D.
- Candidates should have acquired at least 55% of their marks in the concerned master’s degree examination. In the case of ST and SC it would be 50%.
- The overall judgement of the admission will be done on the basis of 50:25:25 ratio. 50% would be done on the basis of the entrance exam, 25% on the basis of the marks obtained in the Masters degree and 25% of the marks would be calculated on the basis of the score in an interview.
