Kannada University Admission 2026-27: Kannada University is a public research university offering admission to various courses in different fields of study. The university releases the admission form in the online as well as offline form which the students can submit to get admission to the courses offered by the university. The online registration form for Kannada University Admission 2026-27 has not been released by the university yet. It is expected to be released by the university in the month of July 2026. Once the online registration form for Kannada University Admission 2026-27 is released by the university, the candidates can visit the official portal of the university to submit the application form.

Kannada University was established in the year 1991. This university is also known as Hampi Kannada University or as Hampi University. It is a public university based in Hampi, Karnataka. The main reason behind the foundation of this university was to promote the literature, traditions and culture of Karnataka and also to promote Kannada language. The institute offers various UG, PG, Integrated and Doctoral level degree courses with different range of specializations. 

The University is comprised of different faculties in which education is provided. Faculties such as Faculty of Language, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Science. Various facilities are also provided to students such as Health care centre, Guest House, Banking & Postal Services, Canteen facilities etc. The faculty of this university is very good and helpful. The professors are highly skilled, professional and knowledgeable.

Kannada University strongly believes that every student of the state gets a valuable education. No one should be deprived of education. Since 2001 the University has offered distance education.

Kannada University Eligibility Criteria-

To take admission in any course of the university, candidates should follow all the eligibility criteria that has been set by the university at the time of admission. Every course has different criteria set by the university, the various criteria for different courses are as below. Candidates should read them very carefully before taking admission. 

Kannada University UG Courses Admission –

The institute offers Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Fine Arts with various specializations at UG level. These courses are for the duration of three years. The specialization of BA is Music and of BFA is Fine Arts. Candidates who wants to take admission in BA in Music programme, must hold Diploma in music or equivalent and for taking admission in BFA, candidates must have Diploma in Sculpture. 

Kannada University Integrated Course-

This University also has integrated courses at PG level. The university offers MA-Ph.D degree for a  duration period of four years. To take admission in this course, aspirants must pass undergraduate course from any reputed college/university with minimum 55% marks. University also conducts an Entrance Test on the basis of which candidates will be selected  according to the rank.

Kannada University Doctoral Course-

The university offers the degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) at doctoral level. This course has various specializations in various fields. Master’s degree is compulsory for the candidates who wants to take admission in this course. An Entrance Test is conducted by the university for the candidates to take admission. Candidates will be selected according to their rank in the entrance test. The candidates who will be selected from the test, they will then called for a personal interview. The specializations of this course are as under:

• Ph.D/M.Phil – Kannada literature studies, Translation studies, Women studies, Dravidian studies, Manuscriptology, Music and dance, Sculpture and Paintings, History, Visual arts, Tribal studies, Epigraphy, Archaeology and ancient history, Folklore studies, Sciences, Anthropology, Development studies. 

Kannada University Application Process-

1. The application process is fully offline.
2. Applicants who wants to be get admitted in this university must take the admission form along with information brochure from the university campus.
3. Admission fees, application form and all the other required documents must be submitted in the admin office on or prior from the last date of submission.
4. Application form that has been filled should be submitted to the university’s address.
5. On the day of counseling appear to the university with the original documents as well as photocopies of these documents
