Jammu University UG Admission 2026-27

Admission to a number of undergraduate programmes, including BA, BBA, BA LLB, B.Lib.Sc., etc., is offered by Jammu University. The majority of Jammu University’s undergraduate programmes will admit students on the basis of their performance in the CUET UG 2026 entrance exam. The online registration form for Jammu University UG Admission 2026-27 is expected to be released in the month of June 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a document verification process in their respective JU institutions once the counselling process begins. Candidates must meet the requirements for eligibility before completing the application.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria is based on different plans and procedures, which has to be followed by the candidate for getting admissions or at the time of applying for the different courses. Eligibility criteria vary from course to course rather than any same procedure being followed in the university.

Candidates must need to thoroughly understand the criteria and only after that apply for the relevant seat.

Eligibility for UG courses : 

LL.B –    Graduation with 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST).

 B.A, B.A. LL.B, B.P.Ed, B.Com, BBA(Hotel Management), B.Lib. –  Pass in 10+2 exams with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST)        from a recognized university

Selection Criteria for UG courses: 

Admission to the undergraduate courses is granted on the basis of JUET entrance  examination.

 Takeaways: 

• Candidates must be 21 years of age for General category and 22 years in age for SC/ST for admission into B.A LL.B. Course.
• There  is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for  each wrong answer in JUET. Students have to secure at least 25% marks in JUET at the time of final admission.
• Candidates under General category need to secure at least 30% marks in JUET while 25% marks are required for SC/ST categories.
• After the declaration of the JUET result, the candidate may fill the admission form online through the official website of JUET.
• Foreign students should not be more than 18 years of age on or before December 31, 2026.

 

Eligibility for PG courses:

M.A.                      Graduation in arts stream

M.Sc.                   Graduation in science stream

M.P.Ed.         Bachelor’s in any stream

M.Com.       Bachelor’s Degree with 55% marks from a recognized university

MBM           Bachelor’s in any stream preferably BBM

M.Ed.            Bachelor’s in any stream preferably BBM

MCA       Pass in bachelor’s degree in any disciplines with mathematics as a compulsory      subject in 10+2

 Selection criteria : Admission into the PG programmes is granted on the basis of JUET entrance examination score card. The candidates have to secure a minimum 25% marks in order to qualify the exam.

Eligibility for M.Phil and Ph.d :  University of Jammu offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines. Candidates who have completed a master degree with 55% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for admission.

The departmental entrance test consists of Research (Descriptive Type) and Academic components with 50 marks each.

 

Application process 2026-27: 

 Here are  the steps that a candidate needs to follow for filling the application form: 

1. Go to  the official website of  the university  and register for JUET.
2.  After login, fill the application form and pay the application fee through challan at the nearby branch of Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. In order to collect the JUET application form.
3.  The registration fee for JUET is INR 700  (General candidates) and INR 600 for SC/ST categories.
4.  After the form is filled, candidates will be required to download and  send it to the department of education of the university with all the required documents.
5.   All the forms will be scrutinized and a merit list will be prepared that will be displayed on the website.
6.   At the end, the selected students will be required to contact the Admission committee for JUET counselling.
