Eligibility criteria for taking admission in The Indian Veterinary research institute

University gives access on the behalf on an entrance exam. The name of the entrance exam is ICAR. Which is done for both master course as well as for PhD. The university also provides a scholarship program consequently, with the needy or merit list students. 

• Consequently taking admission in bachelors courses. Candidates must hold at least 60% marks in their previous 12th exams. Along with they have to face the entrance exams.
• It is important that the candidates should be from PCB stream.
• If the candidate belongs to the reservation cast. The cut off of percentage is 55% with an entrance exam.

Selection Criteria

The candidates who fulfill the prescribed minimum qualification are only eligible to appear in the competitive written examination. The minimum qualifying marks in the competitive entrance examination for admission to Ph.D. Program are as follows:

Subject matter of 200 marks: 50% i.e. 100 marks out of 200 (for general category candidates), 48% i.e. 96 marks out of 200 (for OBC candidates), 45% i.e. 90 marks out of 200 (for SC/ST candidates)

The merit list of the examination will be declared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination.

The University provides various facilities to students such as Library facility, Computer Centre Facility, Hostel Facility, Medical Facility, Communication Centre and Sports Facility. Also, students are offered with placement facility that provides students training and helps in developing their overall personality.

The University also offers Medical Insurance Scheme to post-graduate students of this institute on optional basis. The policy under this scheme covers expenses of hospital only for illness or diseases. This scheme is not applicable for in-service students.
