Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, situated in India’s rice bowl, has been an educational institution serving to accelerate the growth of Chhattisgarh’s agriculture since its inception in 1987. The journey that began as ‘Labhandi Farm’ has grown into a giant Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya campus. The University offers a wide range of courses at different levels such as; Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma and Doctoral levels. The objective of this university to provide agriculture studies in higher education and the main focus is on three main functions are; teaching, research, and extension.

The Fees Structure is differentiated into semester wise and simply understandable to all students, a student can check the official website of the university for further details. The courses provided by the university in various streams i.e. Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture Engineering, Agri-Business Management, Floriculture, and many more. An aspirant who is willing to seek admission in these courses first has to meet with the eligibility criteria. He/She should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board.
Admission will be based on such courses through an online entrance exam conducted by the university. Such courses are; B.Sc (Agri.), B.Sc (Hort.), B.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, M.Tech, and Ph.D. A student can opt for any of these courses as per his/her choices. In Master of Science [M.Sc] there are 18 different streams they are as follows Entomology, Agronomy, Genetics And Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Plant Molecular Biology And Biotechnology, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Agriculture Chemistry & Soil Science, Fruit Science, Floriculture And Landscaping, Agricultural Microbiology, Plant Physiology, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Statistics, Agro-Meteorology, Vegetable Science, Agriculture & Horticulture
