BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) is a 3-year bachelor’s degree course. IGNOU BSW course imparts knowledge and skills on how to work in the social sector to provide quality education in the area of social welfare and to take an active part in the upbringing of society.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed the 10+2 from a recognized board. 40% marks
- For non-10+2 pass candidates, the students who have completed the BPP course from the IGNOU are eligible.
Admission Procedure
The University releases the merit list. And admissions are done based on the marks scored by the candidates in the last qualifying exam i.e. 10+2 or BPP.
How to apply online?
- Visit the official website – http://ignou.ac.in/
- Click on New Registration.
- Log in through the details provided.
- Fill the application form.
- Upload the scanned documents and make sure that the size must not exceed as mentioned in the guidelines. The documents required are:
- Passport Size Photograph (Recent)
- Signature
- Class 10th Mark Sheet
- Class 12th Mark Sheet
- For non- 10+2 candidates, Class 10th Mark Sheet + BPP (IGNOU) Course Mark Sheet
- Identity Card
- Caste Certificate (if any)
- Click on Submit and Pay the fees online via debit/credit card or UPI, etc.

- Fill the application form.
- Submit the required documents along with the application form in the regional center only.
- Pay the fees.

The study material for this course is available on the website. You can download it from the website, it is free of cost. In case you want a hard copy of the study material, you need to visit the regional center.
BSW Assignments (IGNOU)
The assignments carry a weightage of around 30% as per the exam pattern. Do not take the assignments lightly as the marks scored in the assignments are taken into consideration in the final result. If you will not score well in the assignments, you will not be allowed to appear in the term-end-examination.
In case you appear in the exam (without submitting the assignments), your result of the term-end-examination will not be declared.
The due date to submit the assignment was 20th July, 2023.
