Hidayatullah National Law University is a Public Law School and National Law University in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This University named after the former Chief justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah. Although it is one of the independent law schools in India and the top six national law School. Meanwhile, it is established in 2003 by the Government. Apart from this Hidayatullah National Law University is recognized by the University Grants Commission and Bar Council of India. Furthermore, Hidayatullah National Law University proposes various Specialization Programmes such as B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) integrated Programme, an L.L.M. Programme, and Ph.D. Course.

Admission Process :-

As the admission procedure at Hidayatullah National Law University is held online, hence the candidates have to visit the CLAT official website to receive the application form for UG and PG programmes. 

Firstly, the candidate has to enroll on the CLAT official website, corsortiumofnlus.ac.in . There, he/she has to fill in the personal details like Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Address, email id, telephone number, etc. , educational or academic details like last qualifying exam percentage, last school attended, etc. and other details as prescribed in the program applying for. The candidate is required to fill up the form very carefully so that no errors take place which can cause disturbances later. 

Along with the form, a jpg format of passport size photograph of the candidate and jpg format of the candidate’s signature, both of 100kb, should be uploaded.

Also, the following documents need to be uploaded when the candidate is filling in the application form:

• Birth certificate of the candidate 

• The latest Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) of the candidate

• Domicile certificate of the candidate (if applicable)

• Certificate of impairment for Specially Abled Persons

 The candidates should also pay the CLAT application fees, which is ₹4000 for general and OBC candidates and ₹3500 for SC and ST candidates. The payment should be made by the candidate either online through debit card or credit card or through net banking, or in offline way through ICICI bank challan.

In order to get application in Ph.D programmes, the candidates should download the application form from the official website of the university, www.hnlu.ac.in . The applicant should fill up the form containing personal details, academic details like College Attended, Percentage received for graduation, Specialized course, etc. and other details as mentioned there. A demand draft should be send along with it while submitting the form. The candidates have to pay an application fee, which is ₹1500 for general and OBC applicants and ₹1000 for ST and SC applicants.

B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.): Since the candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination or its equivalent certificate from recognised University with 50% aggregate marks. Therefore only those students can apply for the BA LLB Hons programme who have cleared the following level of certification.

Besides students have to qualify the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

HNLU Doctorate Degree (PhD program) Admission

Ph. D: Although all the students should have a Post-graduation degree of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur or any other equivalent university with aggregate 60% marks.

The Ph.D. program is full time residential program. So scholars should be present in the university and also their presence should be recorded in the university library. Attendance should not be less than 70% of the entire working days.

Moreover, all the students have to qualify the Entrance Exam and followed by Personal interview conducted by University.

Therefore Ph. D Specialisation is Law.

Fee Structure for Ph.D.

• Tuition Fee (per annum) – Rs. 15,000/-

Application form:

The Hidayatullah National Law University opens its application form on its website in online mode or offline mode. The students need to fill out a separate application form for different courses. The candidates should keep a printout of an application form, receipt of payment, or acknowledgment slip for future reference. Candidates who belong to SC/ ST category should score at least 50 percent marks. 

HNLU Admission 2026-27

HNLU FOR UG & PG PROGRAMMES

• All the students need to fill Application form Online from CLAT official website Portal 
• Although the Application fee for General Category is Rs.4000/- and moreover, for SC/ST Category student is 3500/-
• The Application fee can be pay through available online Payment options
• Admission will be done after entrance test & counselling.

Application Fee:

• Candidates can submit their application fee via Online and Offline mode.
• In Online mode, users will pay the fee through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
• In Offline mode, users can send a DD to the Registrar Office.
• The Application Fee is non-refundable. 
• The Application Fee is differentiated according to Category wise.

HNLU FOR PhD PROGRAMMES

• All the students have to download application form from the University website portal.
• After that Students have to send the filled form with Demand Draft.
• Application fee for General Category is Rs. 1500/- & SC/ST Category is Rs. 1000/-.

The Hidayatullah National Law University publishes the merit list on its official website. The university prepares that list on the basis of marks that you score in the CLAT examination and the rank of students that applied to the university within the scheduled date and time. The details included in the merit list are Admit Card No., Name of the Candidate, Sex, Admission Category,  CLAT Score, All India Rank, and so on. 2. Candidates had to make an online payment of Rs 50000.
