Harcourt Butler Technical University was established in the year 2016, located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The university has offered various courses i.e. Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, and Architecture at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research levels. The motive of this university to promote higher studies and enhance skill development through different education programs and knowledge so that students can meet with the global environment. The university has four schools of thirteen engineering and technology undergraduate programs with a Postgraduate Program and a PH.D. Programs. The University is spread over two campuses, located about 3 km apart, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres).

Admission procedure 2026-27 has been started, but due to COVID-19 the last date of submission of application form can be extended. So all candidates please check the official website time-to-time. For admission in B.Tech Courses, a candidate must have clearly passed 10+2 qualifying examination from UP board or any other recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with at least 60% of marks in aggregate (55% of marks for SC/ST candidates). Admission will be based on national level entrance test JEE-Mains examination.
The courses offered by the university i.e. B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch, B.Sc, M.Sc, BA, MA, BBA, MBA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. For admission in PG courses, candidate should have a valid graduate degree in the relevant subject. All courses are semester-wise.
