Gujarat maritime University is one of the best private university in India. In 2017, Gujarat Maritime University, briefly known as GMU, was established. The university, under the Gujarat Private Universities Act of 2009, was started by the Gujarat Maritime Board Education Trust. The University is currently functioning on the transitory campus of the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) until the establishment of a permanent campus of its own. It is situated in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, in a location named Koba. At present, the college offers 3 postgraduate degrees, 2 postgraduate degrees and a PhD program as well. LLM in 2 specializations, PGD in 2 specializations, and MBA in Maritime Management are the courses offered by the university. There are various programs which is offered by the university in commercial aspect like Maritime law shipping finance economics and Maritime management shipbroking chartering ship management. The main objective of Gujarat Maritime University is to provide excellence in Maritime education research and development and professional training.
