Forest Research Institute Courses and Fee Structure 2024-25: Forest Research Institute is one of the prestigious universities in Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh, imparting knowledge into the forestry and environment. In 1988, FRI Dehradun was considered to be one of the institutes under the autonomous organization ICFRE (Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change- Government of India). The institute offers master’s degrees, diplomas and doctoral programs. The FRI campus is situated in a green area of 450 hectares, in the outer Himalayas. Its main building is a national heritage, which was opened in 1929.

It offers Diploma, Masters, and Ph.D. programs to the students. The Master’s program include education in the following fields of M.Sc. Forestry, M.Sc. Wood Science & Technology, M.Sc. Environment Management, M.Sc. Cellulose and Paper Technology, etc.
University’s eligibility requirements are decided as per Academic Council on regular time intervals.
M.Sc FORESTRY: The admission to M.Sc ( Forestry) is based on a bachelor’s degree( Science) or a graduate degree in Agriculture. Whereas admission to the M.Sc [ Wood Science & Technology ] is made when a student has a Bachelor’s degree with having a subject like Mathematics and Chemistry or should have B.Sc. in forestry.
It has four faculties, this includes the Faculty of Cellulose and Paper Technology, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Environment Management, Faculty of Wood Science, and Faculty of Technology.
And the research division can be classified into Botany, Cellulose and Paper, Chemistry, Ecology, Climate Change, and Forest Influence, Forest Ecology and Environment, Forest Entomology, Forest Informatics, Extension, Forest Soil, and Land Reclamation, Forest Products Division, Genetics, and Tree Propagation.
