It is a deemed university. It was given by The Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Department on advised by the University Grants Commission. This University is getting the fund help from the D.Y. Patil Educational Society. It is situated in Kolhapur, Maharastra, and is build up in 2005. Before this University was associated with the Shivaji university but now it has been combined with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik.

The university has well-equipped library for the needs of all students.

The university have separate hostel facilities both for boys and girls with capacity of 310 boys and 190 girls. Hostel rooms are well equipped with all facilities as well as internet facilities for the students.

• The university was awarded the Best University Award by the European Business Assembly, Oxford, UK.

AdmissionnEligibility Criteria for D.Y Patil Educational Society:

1. MBBS :

The candidate applying for MBBS must have passed th 12th Class with a minimum of 55% and must have Qualified the NEET exam.

2. Ph.D.  :

The Student applying for the Ph.D. must have Post Graduation Degree in any relevant field.

3. M.Sc : 

It is a must to have a Graduation or B.Sc. degree before applying for M.Sc.

The eligibility for the B.Sc is that students must have passed the 12th class in any relevant field.

6. M.D.  : 

It is a must to have passed the M.B.B.S. an examination from any known medical college or university.

7. M.D Pathology :

The candidate must be post graduated in any relevant field.

8. M.S: 

The candidate before applying for M.S should pass the M.B.B.S. Examination from any of the known college or university.

Important Dates :

• The application has been started for M.Sc from may 2026 and the application must be submitted till June 2026.
• The Institute entrance examination for the M.Sc course will be held on Jun 2026.

D.Y Patil Educational Society Process for applying :

• Form for applying in any individual courses is available on the official website of the university. Candidates who are awaiting their final results also can apply.
• The form can also be gained by the office of the university.
• Please fill in correct details viz, name, address, mobile number, email id in the application form and paste your passport size photograph in it.
• Attach required documents with the application form:
  • 10th mark sheet (as in regard to age proof)
  • 12th mark sheet
  • degree certificate
  • caste certificate (if required)
  • transfer certificate
  • character certificate
• After filling the form it should be submitted to the Registrar of the University to the following given Address – 

Registrar, D.Y. Patil University, kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur (416 006).

• The form should be posted with application fees of INR 1000 for the Registrar.

Application received after due date will be rejected. Aspirants are required to show original certificates along with the photocopies of certificates and documents at the time of verification of documents, if an aspirant fail in it then the admission will be cancelled.
