Dr Y S R Horticultural University is a state university founded in 2007 to provide world class training as well as higher education in the field of horticulture. It is first horticulture university in Andhra Pradesh and placed second in the whole India. For being the leader in the production of mango, oil palm, chilies, turmeric, sweet orange, papaya and also the second largest producer of total fruit, Andhra Pradesh deserves a Horticultural University to improve the state’s horticultural growth, sustainability, and commercialization.

The fee structure is feasible in this university and differentiated into two semesters . Stipends and scholarship is provided to every student of the university according to their courses . For bachelors program student got 30000 per annum and for masters and research programs stipend is 5000 monthly .
The university offers undergraduate program (UG) , post graduate program (PG) and doctoral program Ph.D in mainly two streams as Agriculture and Science . The main courses offered by the university are B.Sc. (hons.), M.Sc. , and Ph.D came under UG , PG and research levels respectively.
The total fee for B.Sc. course at Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University is Rs. 1.04 lakhs. The duration of this course will be 3 years. Candidates must have passed class 12th from any recognised board.
Admission to M.Sc. course is done through entrance test conducted by the university. The duration of this course will be 2 years.
