Dr Y.S. Parmar University Eligibility criteria

The selection process will be done on the basis of an entrance test or personal interviews. 

• A minimum of 50% in the scientific stream in the 10+2 is needed to apply for the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree.
• A minimum GPA of 60% in your B.Sc. or other science-related or related degree is necessary to apply for an M.Sc.
• Any undergraduate degree with a least 55% grade point average is necessary for the Master of Business Management programme.
• A minimum of 65% in an M.Sc. or other postgraduate science degree with a focus on the pertinent field is needed to qualify for a Ph.D.
• A 10+2 exam from a reputable institution or board with a minimum of 40% in the aggregate is necessary for diploma programmes.

1. Candidates can access the website and download the prospectus. 
2. Last date for applying in UG courses and PG courses is extended till 15th july 2026. 
3. Candidates shall apply online for all the courses keeping in the view the pre requisites. 
4. Form cost is ₹1500/- for general category candidates and ₹1000/- for SC/ST/PH category upto 3rd January, 2026. 
5. You can apply online through Credit cards, debit cards and net banking. 
6. Please keep a passport size photograph and scanned signatures before filling the form (not more than 50 kb, png/gif/jpg/jpeg are acceptable, images should be within 640×480 pixels and photographs within 480×640 pixels). 

How to fill the Application Form for YSPU?

Step 1 : The candidates should visit the official website of the university and click on the apply button for UG, PG and MBA courses. 

Step 2 : The candidates should register themselves on the official website of the university. 

Step 3 : this will generate a unique application number for the candidate with login credentials. 

Step 4 : once the candidate login they will see the form generated in front of them they can fill in their details. 

Step 5 : passport size photograph and the scanned signatures of the candidate must be uploaded in the form.

Step 6 : cross check the details and proceed further for the payment details.

Step 7 : according to the fee category candidates can pay the amount via credit cards, debit cards and net banking.

Step 8 : The filled form must be preserved for future references.

Entrance examination pattern in Dr Y.S. Parmar University

The pattern of the examination questions will be different for each course. The pattern for examinations are given below: 

FOR UG 

1. Total number of questions: 100 questions.
2. Subject wise division: 30 from physics, chemistry and mathematics/biology and 10 Questions related to general knowledge of agriculture. 
3. Duration of examination: The exam will take place for 2 hours. 
4. Total marks: total marks awarded for 100 questions will be 100.

FOR PG 

1. Number of sections: The paper consists of 3 sections. Part 1 and Part 2 are common to all. Part 3 Shall be optional which will be dependent on the qualifying degree.
2. Division of Questions: Part 1- 20 questions on general knowledge. Part 2- 20 questions on rural awareness. Part 3- 60 questions on specialisation which will be optional for the candidates. 
3. Venue for the examination: The examination should take place on the main campus of the University. 

FOR MBA 

1. Qualifying examination: The candidates must appear in HP-CMAT examination conducted by the board of Himachal Pradesh and then apply separately to seek admissions in this university. 

YSPU Admit card

The admit card is the proof that the candidate has applied for the examination in this university. Some basic and very important rules for admit card as stated below: 

1. The university will publish the admit cards on their official website.
2. The candidates who have completed the procedure for examination will be only getting the admit cards.
3. The candidates should download the admit cards and keep them safely. 
4. The admit card contains the details of the candidate such as exam centre, date and venue of the examination, identification proof of the candidate, etc.

It has been decided that fifty per cent of all seats will be set aside for candidates who are residents of the state of Himachal Pradesh. It has been decided that twenty-five per cent of the total seats would be set aside for candidates who come from states other than their own. The ICAR quota will account for the filling of 25% of all available seats.
