Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV), Akola was founded in 1969. It provides programs focused on agrarian sciences. In the Agriculture & Engineering faculty, the courses offered include B.Sc, B.Tech, M.Sc, M.Tech, and Doctoral Degree programs. Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth programmes are spread over in 5 colleges named as College of Agriculture, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, College of Forestry, College of Horticulture and Post Graduate Institute. In this University four under graduate programmes such as B.Sc (Agri.), B.Sc. (Hort.), B.Sc. (Forestry) and B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) two post graduate courses i.e. M.Sc. (Agri.) and M.Tech. (Agri. Engg.) and doctoral programmes in the area of Agriculture and Agril. Engineering are offered. The University also consist of an online learning portal from which students can learn online. Admissions to courses are made on the basis of different entrance tests for PG programs and on the basis of merit in previous UG programmes. Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is Located in Akola, Maharashtra. Students of the University are provided with Insurance scheme which incudes health facilities such as blood group checkup, blood donation camp and many more such facility. In this scheme, students can get benefit of Rs 1.0 lakh to 2 lakh and Rs 50000 to Rs 1 lakh for medication.
