If you’re interested in pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies, Davangere University is accepting applications for admission in 2026. The tentative admission window for the Bachelor’s program is from July 1, 2026, to August 30, 2026, while the PG program’s admission process begins in October and concludes in the second week of November 2026.

Davangere University is one of the universities who have joined earliest in the Karnataka state. This university is approved and affiliated by UGC and AICTE. It offers various Under graduate and Post graduate courses which aims at enhancing the skills and provide global opportunities for the development of its students. Established on August 18, 2009, by the Government of Karnataka, the university has 116 colleges affiliated to it and it offers 23 Post-graduation research courses and various PG courses with multiple specializations.

Reservations of seats for special categories are also available – 50% for reserved category students and 50% for general category students.

The courses which the university provides are: Arts, Commerce & Management, Science & Technology. It has one of best staff with high caliber in the state of Karnataka.

It has a distinctive academic profile, integrating commitment and excellence in higher education to fulfill the needs of the society. The Davangere University provides placements opportunities to the students. About 80% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is INR 2-3 lakhs. The minimum salary package offered is INR 1.6 lakhs. The average salary package offered is INR 1.8 lakhs.

The admission counselling of Davangere University conducts only  through the criteria prescribed by the officials. In the counselling process only those candidates can take part who have a degree of academic course from any recognized institution or board.

Davangere University APPLICATION PROCESS

Candidates who want to apply to any course of their choice need to visit the official website of the university for downloading the form and if not, they may get it from the main campus office.

After receiving the application form, he/she may submit it along with the application form fee. Form fee can be paid either through Demand Draft which will made in the name of the institute or can be made through Bank Chalan.

Davangere University COURSES AS PER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Post Graduate courses:

• MA.: This is a full-time course, which offers specialization in M. Ed., Sociology, Political Science, History, Economics, Urdu, Hindi, English, kannada. Aspirants need to have BA degree with up to 45% marks with relevant subjects.
• MSW in Social Work and MA in Journalism & Media: Candidates need to have any graduation degree with up to 45% of marks.
• M. Com in General: Candidates must have BBA or BBM degree with at least 45% of marks in aggregate. And will be selected on the basis of merit or rank in entrance exam conducted by the university.
• MVA – Applied Arts/ Painting/ Sculpture
• MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Botany, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Physics.

Applicant should have obtained merit or high rank in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

Preparation tips: 

• Before starting the preparation of the exam the students need to complete all the topics of the syllabus. 
• Candidates should prepare the schedule of the exam preparations. 
• Candidates should practice the sample papers and mock test papers to get an idea of questions asked in the examination. 
• The students should read all the effective tools of the syllabus. 

Davangere University SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants will be selected as per merit scored and will be judged on the basis of rank in entrance exam conducted by the university.

MBA: As this is a master’s course, candidates should have his/her bachelor degree in any subjects. And he/she will be judged on the basis of CMAT exam or on the basis of KEA entrance exam. As this is a full-time course candidate with high marks will be given preference over others.

PhD Course: This course is one step additional to master’s course and is a doctorate course, candidates need to have his/her master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% of the aggregate marks.

This course offers specialization which are: Commerce, Economics and Business Administration.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Applicants will be judged on the basis of the entrance exam conducted by the university.

M. Phil. Course: This is also a full-time course and offers many specializations which are- Biochemistry, Food Technology, Microbiology etc.
