Full form of CUET is Common University Entrance Test. CUET is used for Common University Entrance Test. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Therefore, NTA is the conducting body of CUET. Common University Entrance Test referred to as CUET will be conducted to offer admission to undergraduate courses offered in all the central universities including Delhi University, JNU, University of Allahabad etc. NTA has replaced CUCET with CUET which is now mandatory for Delhi University admissions as well. Admission at DU was offered based on class 12th marks, but from 2023 marks/scores obtained in CUET shall be the mandatory criteria. The marks obtained in class 12th can be the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for CUET. Students’ boards now have no right to determine admission be it which course or college they are applying for. CUET 2023 Registration
Formerly, CUET; Common University Entrance Test was referred to as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). The former name of CUET was CUCET. This decision was taken by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Taking admission in central universities can now only be done based on CUET scores. CUET will be the sole road for students from 2023 who are wanting to take admission in any central universities including Delhi University and the University of Allahabad in UG courses. Aspirants can give this exam in 13 languages and 153 exam centres have been established where students can write the exam. From 2023, Delhi University (DU) has made CUET marks mandatory for DU admissions. Students appearing or aspiring to appear for CUET must read the full article as we are covering the main aspects here; CUET eligibility criteria, CUET application process, CUET exam pattern etc. On 6th April 2023, the CUET registration process started and it will continue till 6th May 2023 at @5 pm. The exam has been scheduled for the 1st of July which will take place in two slots. When will CUET be held? University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the CUET notification stating the CUET will be conducted in the first and second week of July. The CUET examination is going to be held in the first week of July. In this notification, it is clearly mentioned that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application cum registration process for CUET took place on 6th April and will end on 6th May. Students have an entire one month to complete registration. Students are required to complete the registration process before the last date. The exam has been confirmed and will be commenced from the current only; 2023.
Erstwhile CUCET, CUET is Common University Entrance Test who’s application process started on April 6, 2023, and will go on till May 6, 2023, at @5 pm. CUCET has been renamed as CUET since 2023. Scores obtained in the CUET will be accepted by a total of 54 central universities including Delhi University. More than one lakh students are expected to sit for the Common University Entrance Test this year. Till last year, the exam was called Central Universities Common Entrance Test which was changed by UGC and named the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Originally, CUCET was conducted in pen-paper mode while CUET will be conducted in the online mode.
CUET Summary
NTA and NEP together have decided that the CUET exam will be commenced from this only. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be now required for admission to DU as well. Therefore, CUET is an qualifying exam for admission to central universities where students must get qualifying scores in CUET to be eligible to get admission in central universities across the country. On 26th March 2023, the official notification regarding CUET 2023 was released. In the notification, it was stated that the registration process of CUET will start on 6th April 2023 and continue till May 6th, 2023. Tentatively, the CUET will be conducted in the first or second week of July in two slots. CUET Application Process 2023
The registration process for CUET begins on 6th April 2023. The last date for registration of CUET is 6th May 2023. CUET application/registration process started from 6th April 2023 to 6 May 2022 @ 5 pm as declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students interested in appearing for CUET can apply at https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/. One has to visit the official website of CUET, register themselves on the portal, fill out the application, upload the documents and pay the fees. These things must be done in order to complete the CUET registration process in 2023. Students wanting admission in the central universities must fill the online application forms available at the CUET website. All the applicants appearing for CUET have to the fees through debit/credit card/net banking or Challan of SBI bank in any branch. For general category students, the application fee is Rs. 850. Two paying options are available for students either they can pay online or offline. The application fee shall include GST and other taxes as governed by the Government of India (GOI).

CUET Application Process 2023
Students must register themselves on the official portal of CUET then only they can fill out the application form. Students are required to fill out the CUET application form 2023.
Below given is the step by step process how to fill the CUET application form.
- All the students are required to visit the official website of CUET to fill out the application form.
- Tap on the “apply now” button to register for the desired programme.
- Once you are done with that, you would see a list of UG, PG and RP. Click on the programme according to your priority.
- All the students have to enter all the required details such as applied for, name, valid e-mail-id, mobile number, date of birth, and verification code to complete the CUET registration process.
- Verify the details and if all the details entered are submitted. Further, application numbers and passwords are generated and sent to students appearing for CUET.
- By using the application number and password, you can login and fill the application form. Enter all the required details and upload a scanned photograph and signature along with that.
- From the list of exam centre that will be visible on the screen, choose any one according to your preference.
- After successful submission of the application, an email would be sent to the students regarding the successful payment of fees.
What is the CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria?
Students wanting to take admission in central universities have to sit for CUET. Common University Entrance Test is now mandatory for admission to any central universities in India. In order to appear for CUET, one must meet the eligibility set by NTA. The agency has set the eligibility criteria for undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses accordingly. Kindly first check and meet the eligibility. The academic qualifications needed for different courses at different levels- UG, PG and doctoral are different.
- CUET UG Eligibility 2023- Candidates that have passed class 12th must secure a minimum of 50% marks.
- CUET PG Eligibility 2023- Must have completed graduation with 55% marks.
- CUET PhD Eligibility 2023- Master’s degree with 55% marks.
CUET 2023 Reservation Criteria
As discussed above, CUET is an exam that is conducted to grant admission to central universities. These universities need to follow the rules and regulations of GOI as they are established as an act of Parliament, they must follow the guidelines concerning reservation and seat intake. CUET eligibility includes relaxation for students belonging to reserved categories.

CUET Exam Pattern 2023
Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is conducted in thirteen languages. These languages include Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi and Urdu) etc. Earlier, CUCET was conducted in the offline mode. Whereas, CUCET replaced by CUET will be conducted in the online this early year. CUET consists of four sections; 13 languages, 19 languages, domain wise specific subject, and a general test. The test will contain 175 total MCQ types of questions out of which 140 have to be attempted. There is no negative marking. CUET Application Process
With no doubt, Common University Entrance Test is all India examination which is considered highly competitive and conducted by the National Testing Agency. All the students must form a strategy on how to prepare for CUEG and obtain good marks in the CUET. First, check the exam patterns and syllabus of CUET and then prepare accordingly. CUET Exam Syllabus
Questions will be asked in CUET from the previous academic syllabus. The prescribed syllabus of CUET is from the classes 11th and 12th. From the English Language, the questions will be asked from Comprehension Passages Fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary. From numerical ability, the questions will be asked from Areas like arithmetic, Number system, Basics of algebra and Modern maths. Logical reasoning questions will be asked from Syllogisms, Logical sequences, Analogies, Series, Directions, Cocks & calendars, Seating Arrangements and Puzzles.

CUET Admit Card 2023
The admit card through which students will be able to appear for CUET shall be released prior 10-20 days before the CUET exam. Hence, the CUET exam date has not been officially released till now. The admit card will contain the applicant’s name, address, exam timings, application number and course applied. If any student sees any discrepancy in the admit card, the first thing students are required to do is to report to the concerned authorities.
CUET Result 2023
The result of CUET is released on the official website of CUET approximately one month after the declaration of the result. Students who appeared for CUET and need to check the result can do it by logging the login details generated at the time of the CUET application process. The result will display if a student has cleared the test or not. The authorities shall prepare the merit list based on CUET marks. The following process will be followed to check the CUET Result. Post declaration of the result, the CUET cutoff will be released along with the scorecard by the participating institute of CUET. Students that will meet the set CUET cutoff or higher than that can only take part in online/offline mode counselling which is mandatory for final admission.

- Click on the “CUET 2023 Scorecard” that will appear in the latest news section.
- Students have to enter the roll number and DOB to check the result on the official website.
- Once the result is visible on the screen, take a printout of the result and keep it for any future proceeding/references.
CUET 2023 Counselling
CUET counselling is going to be released on the official website of CUET 2023 counselling. Post declaration of CUET results, each participating university will start its counselling process. All the students who will pass the test and will be on the CUET merit list have to register on the official website of CUET. Registering for CUCET counselling for students who have passed the CUET is mandatory for CUET counselling. While the counselling will be conducted in an offline mode, all the documents required need to be produced for verification purposes. The allocation seat list will be released once the counselling for CUET 2023 is done.
