The Government of Uttar Pradesh Vide U. was founded by Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura, first of its kind in the State and fourth in the World. Act of P. No. 27 of 2001 with the College of Veterinary Science & AH., the former U.P., on 25.10.2001 Mathura as its principal constituent institution, the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry. Since time immemorial, the Brij region has been known for Lord Krishna and its animal resources, particularly cows. The whole of Brij Kshetra is renowned for its milk and products (doodh, dahi, makhan, pera, etc.). The former U.P. recognizes the importance of living stocks in this area. The Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry College was founded in Mathura by the U.P. Govt. In the year 1947.
