The Central Institute of Technology is a publicly Deemed University that was established in the year 2006. It can be found in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. • Candidates have to register themselves first with a valid phone number/ email id.

Diploma Course in CIT:

Candidates looking for the admission to Diploma must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Entrance Examination conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or Polytechnic Admission Test moreover the Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 40% marks in aggregate and 40% of marks in Mathematics and Science with English taken together. Undergraduate Programmes in CIT:

Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech through Direct Entry Scheme must qualify either CITDEE conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or JEE (Mains) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) followed by the criteria of 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech Programme must qualify either Central Institute M. Tech Entrance Examination (CITMEE 2026 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and the eligibility criteria is that the candidates should be Passed B. Doctorate Programmes in CIT

To be eligible for this course, candidates must either already possess a master’s degree in a relevant field or be in their last year of study for a relevant master’s degree program. The first step in the selection process will be a written test, and then there will be a personal interview. Applicants who have already demonstrated their academic prowess by earning a passing score on the NET, NET-JRF, SLET, or GATE examination will not need to take the admission exam. After admission, you will be required to write a brief thesis. The following is a list of the courses for which there are application forms available:

The Central Technology institute issues the merit list for the diploma and BTech courses. The merit list is displayed on the basis of the difficulty level of the examination and ranks in the previous year. 

The following factors affect the cut-off:

• The various entrance exams are conducted by the institute like CITDEE, CITEE, PAT, CITBDAT, ANd many more. If the difficulty level of exams is high then the level of cut-off is low and if the difficulty level of exams is low then the level of cut-off is high. 
• The cut-off also depends on the number of applicants. If the number of applicants is high which is to the above-mentioned courses then the cut-off will also be high. 
• The availability of seats plays a very important role in the merit list. If the availability of seats is less for the particular course then the cut-off will be high.
• The institute decides the cut-off on the basis of the previous year’s cut-off. So candidates should prefer the cut-off trends of the previous year before applying to any program.
