About the college
In western Quebec, CEGEP heritage college is the only tuition free, public, Anglophone CEGEP. This college is among the 48 CEGEP’S in the province of Quebec. For more than 40 years ,the college has been known for providing the English college education in western Quebec.
2 year pre University programs is offered by CEGEP heritage college. This program prepare students for further University studies, and 3 year career programs for further University studies or immediate entry into the labour force. Both kind of programs lead to (DEC) diploma of college studies. An important feature of these program is the Co -op component in which the qualified students have the chance to participate in paid summer works terms after the completion of the first and second year of study. Professional setting access provides students with work experience which is practical in real life, improving their employability to a great extent. The innovative centre for continuing education gives one year program leading to attestations of college studies ( AEC),as well as weekend and evening courses.
A student centred community is what you can see in the college. It promotes the academic excellence with the help of supportive ambience and it emphasize on the importance of continuous learning. Teacher and student relationship is direct and informal at the college . Teachers can be easily seen in their offices and students are encouraged to take help and consult their teachers whenever they need .
It’s rightly said that recreation is as needed as academic learning. Recreation plays a major role in student’s life .The college has sports and recreational facilities which are modern and updated. Men and women can practice various activities or join a sports team such as sports, chess ,basketball rugby or soccer for enjoyment. Student Association in the college gives student a voice to talk about and bring upon their problems. It emphasize and promote the interests, rights and welfare of all students. Social and cultural activities are also organised by the association for all regular, full time students who are registered at the college.
It is located in Canada’s national Capital Region and beside the scenic Gatineau Park. Heritage college has modern facilities, beautiful landscape and spacious campus grounds. From the downtown Ottawa it is just 10 minutes distance away.

Heritage College Residence and Campus
- Heritage College has 2 campuses, the prominent campus in cite de jeunes and the Pontiac campus in Campbell’s bay.
- Heritage college offers 6 intercollegiate sports teams, 6 for women and 2 for men. Most of heritage’s students are the members of alliance sport etudes.
- The semester fee is inclusive of complete access to the newly renovated up to date, well equipped fitness centre which hosts yoga activities and health and wellness workshops.
- The campus has an auditorium with 156 seats, a big boardroom, conference rooms with internet access, a cafeteria, sports fields and spacious grounds for athletes, a big library and onsite parking.
- The college has 18 student clubs and it also has a student association to manage these clubs.
- Life at heritage college cannot be a bore because of the various facilities provided by college( free breakfasts and BBQ’s, coffee houses, drama clubs, contests, special occasions, talent shows ,award nights and many more).
- 50% of the total students who have taken admission in the college are from overseas.
- The college does not provide Residential service .
- But rentals are available near to the college.
Heritage College Programs
- Heritage College offers two year pre- university programs and a three year career programs.
- The college has a special Centre for Continuing Education . It offers 1 year programs in more than 10 academic areas which can be studied according to evening and weekend schedules.
- The pre university programs are provided in 4 subject areas: liberal arts, social science visual arts, science.
- The career programs come in 8 subject domain and are provided with extra technical skills. Famous career programs amongst the international students include accounting and management technology, computer science, nursing, hotel and restaurant management.
- Students who are studying in Quebec are required to take general education courses as a part of college curriculum. But, the students can also choose from the 5 options available (English, French, humanities/philosophy, math and physical education.
Admission Process for International Students:
- If a candidate who is not a resident of Canada or not any permanent resident status in Canada then no worry still you can get admission in this College,
- If your educational background is equivalent to Quebec High School Diploma, then you can apply for admission to the program of your choice.
