Syllabus of Chemistry Practicals
There are certain topics which are covered as the part of the Chemistry Practical examination for the board examination. We have mentioned below the topics which will help you get ready for the practical examinations.
- Chromatography: Students must know how to separate the pigments from leaves extract and flowers using chromatography paper. Also, must know the separation of constituents that is present in an inorganic mixture that includes only two cations
- Preparation of Inorganic Compounds: It includes preparation of double salt of Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate of Potash Alum. Also, includes preparation of Potassium Ferric Oxalate.
- Tests for the functional groups present in organic compounds: Groups of unsaturation, alcoholic, phenolic, aldehydic, ketonic, carboxylic and amino.
- Tests of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in pure samples and their detection in given food product.
- Students will be required to prepare standard solutions on the basis of weight that they had to measure themselves
- Qualitative analysis i.e. determination of one cation and one anion in the given salt

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
- The practical examination of Chemistry is subjected to two hours.
- The written test will be of 30 minutes duration.
- There are a total of 15 practical based short answer type questions in which A student is required to answer any 10 questions.
- Every question should require two minutes to be answered.

Q.4. Did CBSE give grace marks in Physics 2023 ?
Ans: There is no such grace marks policy in CBSE although there is a policy of lenient marking if the responses of student say that paper was tough they will mark for the attempted questions.
5. Does CBSE try to pass all students?
Ans: Yes, of course, CBSE tries to pass every student if the students have written well in their exams. But, if the students have not attempted their paper well and up to the mark then CBSE can fail that student. So, to pass in the exams, students should attempt all the questions, also if they don’t know the answer fully.
Q.6. What is passing marks out of 80?
Ans: The passing marks for theory paper out of 80 are 26, out of 70 marks students need to attain 23 marks and out of 60 marks, 19 marks are required to pass the examination. For practical examination, out of 40, 13 marks are required. Out of 30 marks, 9 marks are needed to pass the exam.
Q.7. How is best of 5 calculated in CBSE?
Ans: The rule of best of 5 subjects in CBSE board is to make the average of any 5 subjects in which you have scored highest in your final exam. It is compulsory to take English as one of the 5 subjects and any other 4 highest scoring subjects to calculate the best of five in CBSE.
