The University has differentiated into nine schools Engineering & Technology, Management, Computer Applications, Law, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Basic Sciences, Hospitality & Tourism, and Journalism in which a variety of different courses such as; B.Tech, M.Tech, BA LLB, LLM, B. Pharma, M. Pharma, BHM, BBA, MBA, BCA, BPT, M.Sc, BHM, MTTM, Ph.D.
BA LLB is a 5-year integrated program. Ph.D. in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Life Sciences offers by the University. Ph. D program is differentiated into two programs; full time and part-time. Shimla is a multi-disciplinary university, Bahra University (BU), established in 2011 by the State Legislature of Himachal Pradesh Act No. 2 of 2011. Under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 and the Bar Council of India, the university is authorised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) (BCI). In full time a candidate cannot do any job in between the course and for part-time if a candidate is doing a job can join the program. The University of Bahra offers a wide variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in various fields. In the following colleges, the university runs its courses.

The University charges fees annually in two equal instalments. Students need to deposit first instalment at the time of admission and second before the commencement of final examination of the preceding semester.
The fees for the hostel is Rs 70000 per year.
