If you are looking for Bachelors in Education, then you can go with the course offered by DU for a duration of 2 years. This course is of 2 years duration however students will not be able to pursue any other course during this time. The applications are given by DU starting from the month of June 20th 2021. However, at present, it’s extended up to August 31st 2021.

Examination procedure and dates:
For this year 2021, the applications are invited from the month of June 20th 2021. The last date for submitting your application is extended up to August 31st 2021. Before that, students can avail their admit card by logging in the website by August 29th 2021. The examination happens between September 6th to September 11th 2021. Yet, the dates are to be confirmed for results announcement as well as for counselling process.
In general, the examination pattern is MCQ type and will be held in online mode. This MCQ is divided into 3 sections containing a different type of questionnaires. The first paper is completely full of GK & reasoning, the second paper to know about the subject knowledge up to 10th standard and the third paper consists of Language questions in Hindi & English.
Based on the merit score, results are announced by DU. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and total questions provided are 100 and total marks for the examination is 400. There will be negative marking in the examination i.e. +4 for right answer and -1 for wrong answer.
Registration Fee
For registering themselves for the examination that is held by DU, applicants need to submit the specific registration fee. Fee is as follows:
For General and OBC Category Applicants : Rs 500
For SC and ST Category Applicants : Rs 250
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR B.Ed.:
As per Delhi University, for B.Ed. The program there are few eligibility guidelines that vary accordingly to the categories. And 5% relaxation for OBC category alone. There are two categories based on which eligibility differs.
- Category 1– Candidates with 50% marks in science stream (Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Science/Commerce) are eligible for applying for B.Ed.
- Category 2 – The second category is wherein the candidates with 55% marks in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or Maths or any other equivalent are eligible for applying.
However, candidates can choose their subjects to be studied but they should have studied the relevant subjects in the qualifying degree to be considered as eligible. This means they should have obtained at least 50% marks in those subjects. The candidate can choose the subject from the listed category however at any cost, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.
There are main subjects namely Science, Language, Social science, Other subjects and Home science too.
DU B.Ed. age limit:
- The age of a Candidate should not be less than 21 years.
- There is no any age relaxation for those candidates who are belonging to reserved category
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND ADMISSION PROCESS:
The students can obtain the application from the official website of Delhi University. The official website link is www.du.ac.in. Candidates before filling up the application form have to make sure that they fit into the eligibility criteria.
- Students applying for B.Ed. admission process should visit the official website of DU and go to the admission portal
- There is a link for downloading B.Ed. prospectus, wherein you can download and read the procedure carefully.
- Post downloading it, fill in the application form and fill in the personal, educational details.
- After which, select the subjects you need to apply for and centre for examination appropriately.
- Finally, you need to make the payment via the payment mode available in the website.
- In the end, make sure you verify the complete information filled in and click on the submit button.
And the candidates shortlisted for admission should make sure they are available at the point of time. Students should carry Photo, ID proof, Printout of the application form, Admit card etc. There is a series of documents that students need to carry during admission.
- Students should have their Higher secondary school certificate
- And for verifying their Graduation, students need to carry the consolidated statement of marks sheet.
- Provisional certificate of qualifying examination and certificate related to reserved categories eligible for admission.
- Code of Conduct certificate and if working, need to get No objection certificate from the employer for a duration of 2 years.
Candidates should follow the set of instructions provided and make sure they don’t pursue education or working during the two years’ time frame.
ADMIT CARD, RESULTS, RESERVATION CRITERIA:
After completing the application process, students can get their admit card. From the official website, students can download their admit card by providing their application number and password. Since the admit card is considered as the main document to appear for the examination, candidates have to make sure that they possess during the exam.
Once the exam gets completed, based on the performance of the examination, candidates who get shortlisted names will be listed on the website. Based on various factors namely- marks obtained in the entrance test, the subject is chosen, availability of seats and institutions preferred, candidates, will be given different institutions. The general category candidates get qualified for this course if obtained 20 marks out of 100 whereas for other categories it is 18 marks.
For SC/ST candidates, the seat filling takes place by candidates only. Based on the availability and other criteria, sometimes seat availability gets exchanged between SC & ST. This clearly states, if OBC category seats are available, candidates from OBC are filled into that. However, finally, if any changes required, even the general category gets filled in.
- There is around 27% reservation for OBC category.
- 15% reservation for SC category candidates.
- 7.5% reservation is available for ST candidates.
- PWD category reservation is around 5%.
- And for foreign nationals, it is 5%
And students can check on the seat availability based on the subjects, college availability. The seats are segregated under 4 different colleges namely- CIE(Central Institute of Education), Lady Irwin College, Maharishi Valmiki College of Education, SPM college.
