Assam Women’s University will soon begin the admission process for the 2026-27 session for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level programs. Students are advised to check the official website for the latest updates regarding fresh admissions. The university offers admission to girls for UG and PG programs in various fields for the 2026  session.

Assam women’s university is spreading education is among the interested students since 2013. This university also plays the role of a state university. Along with this university is recognized by the well-known board UGC.

• There is an age restriction by the university. That the candidate should be around 17 in her age at the time of entry on August 01.
• The university deals with the legal procedure. The legal proceeding promotes the relaxation of 5℅ to ST/ as compared to the general category people.

AWU Admission 2026

This AWU university only gives admission to female candidates. It also reserves seats for admission of students who belong to SC, ST, PwD and OBC category students. 

• 7% is reserved for SC category
• 10% for ST category students living in plain areas and 5% for ST category students living in hilly areas.
• 15% category for those students who belong to OBC and are citizens of Assam State.
• 3% is for PwD category students.

AWU Courses

Assam women’s university provides various courses. Likewise, the university offers BA, BPT as the 3-year course. Along with them in the manner provide a Masters course in which they provide MCA, MBA, MTTM, together with MLIS and various courses which is provided by the university for the students.

AWU UG Admission

The AWU university offers BA and BPT courses under UG level. The AWU university only takes 25 students in each course. To get admission in BA course, candidates must have passed class 12th scoring minimum 45% marks in any field. Whereas, to get admission in BPT course candidates should have opted for subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in their class 12th scoring at least 50% marks. During the time of selection, apart from class 12th marks, universities also consider the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. 

AWU PG Admission

The AWU university provides various courses in different specializations and for admission in these courses, candidates must have completed their graduation along with 50% of marks. Selection is done through the entrance examination conducted by the AWU university. For some courses, the AWU university also takes group discussion and personal interviews of the candidate who has qualified the entrance examination.

Application Form

Candidates need to submit the application form offline by themselves or through post. 

Application form fees of courses BA, BPT, MA (Mass Comm.), MLIS, MCA MBA for general category students is Rs 500 and for SC/ST category students is Rs 300. Whereas, application form fees of courses M.Sc. and MA in other specializations except from Mass Communication is Rs 400 for general category candidates and Rs 200 for SC/ST category candidates. 

Admission procedure of Assam Women’s University

The Assam Women‘s University is a state university of Assam which has connected with UGC.

If candidates want to fill 

the university from online, then they can visit the official page of the university.

• Log in to the official page of the university.
• Fill the application form of the university with the mandatory details.
• Upload the official documents of the candidate. Along with the official records, candidates together have to post the passport size photo of the student.
• Upload scanned signature. Photo, signature and documents will be in JPG format.
• Along with the admission form, the candidates also have to pay the fee of the university form.

How can I become eligible for the admission into the Assam Women’s University

Assam women universities only give admission to the women candidates into the university. Along with this, it is mandatory for women. That the women should be at the age of 17 at the time of the disclosure.

• The different course has different cut-off
• Candidate should own a bachelor’s degree. Consequently, if they want to take admission into the master’s degree.
• There should be at least 50% percent eligible for the master’s degree in a bachelor’s degree.
• For some mandatory courses, the candidate should be a face entrance exam.
• Consequently, the candidate should be from the PCM stream into their school for admission to M.Tech or any technological field.
• Candidate should own the mark sheet of 10th and 12th for being eligible for entry.
• The university also gives relaxation to the ST/SC student of 5%

The candidates can easily apply for Assam Women’s University with the offline application mode. They can also appear in the offline entrance exam, which is conducted by the university for the students. In 2026 the entrance exam is going to held on July 2026.

The duration of entrance test is 60 minutes. The total marks of written test and interview is 50 and 25 respectively.

AWU Instruction for the Candidates:

1. Application form is to be downloaded from the university website i.e. www.awu.ac.in. Candidates are required to fill the application form and submit before the deadline.
2. For programmes where entrance test are not conducted, for that programmes application form has to be submitted only after the declaration of final semester results of the qualifying examination.
3. Candidates shall have to appear before the Selection Committee as per admission date, time and venue with all the original certificates, mark sheets, and other supporting documents.

Admit Card:

An admit card is very important for getting permission to give an exam. The students can download the admit card after registration because without registration you are not able to download the admit card. 

Procedure for downloading the admit card:

• The students should click on the link of the admit card at the official website of the university. 
• You need to enter the application number and password. 
• Click on the submit button and admit card open on your screen. 
• You should keep the various printed copies of an admit card. 

Counseling

The AWU university calls out for the counseling process after the preparation of the merit list. This process is done according to the rank obtained by the candidates. Verification of documents also takes place in this process.

Merit List

Students need to wait for the merit list after the declaration of result. The merit list is prepared by every college so that the admission runs easily. Mentioned below is the steps how to check the result:

• Candidates need to visit the official website of the university
• There they need to click on the result section available at the top of the page
• Candidates need to enter their information like registration number and date of birth to login
• The result will be displayed on the screen and candidates can take out the print out for the same
