Once the Unacademy was started gaining momentum, Gaurav and his co-founders realised that they needed more educators on board as they collaborated with an app meant specially for educators to spread out the burden of creating new and original content. The app was formed to help educators to create their content from anywhere and put it online for the students to view. The decision was taken by Gaurav and we think that he did justice to the point. These educators acted as the influencers of the company and helped the company to even grow higher. Educators as Collaborators, and Unacademy used this as an opportunity for growth.
Unacademy knew when to monetize the followerships.
The biggest drawback of launching anything for free is the knowledge of when to monetise. It is seen that many educational channels were not able to know when it is the right time to make something from the free services. But we think Gaurav knew it well, the day he realised that the videos are gaining momentum and the youtube channel is gaining popularity. He was agile enough to decide that this is the right time to launch the Unacademy app. He knew that a platform like a youtube channel would always be for free and he would not easily make money out of it. By launching the app, it was simpler for the company to push the subscription model to the users that were using the app and website both.
