ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), a Central University renowned throughout the nation for its extensive selection of courses and programmes that are made available to students through Open Distance Learning, established the School of Humanities on May 20, 1988, at the 8th meeting of the Board of Management (ODL). In order to keep the University’s vision and mission alive, the main goal of this is to develop and offer academic courses not just in English but also in Hindi and other Indian languages.

• This course helps us to know about the world and provides tools to know about the future. 
• The students can improve their ability to commute in this course. 
• This course also helps the students to learn foreign languages.
• Some of the courses offered by IGNOU School of Humanities are Ph.D. in Hindi and English, Master’s Degree Programme in Hindi, English, and Sanskrit and Master of Arts Hindi (Online), Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in Hindi, English, Urdu, and Sanskrit, Honours in Hindi and English, Postgraduate Diploma in Book Publishing, Diploma in Creative Writing in English and others.

There is a total of 16 courses in modern Indian languages originated by the school for the purpose of learning:

As per the above-given languages, this school provides the following courses and programs which covers basic education in languages at the undergraduate and postgraduate level:

IGNOU SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES ADMISSION

Forms are now closed for admissions. The last date to fill out the application forms was October 2024 for the July session admissions. For application, the students have to register themselves on the official website of IGNOU. They must also go through the course eligibility criteria and must also be aware of the fee structure.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND FEE STRUCTURE

1. CERTIFICATE COURSES- The eligibility criteria is that the students must have done 10+ 2 or intermediate or equivalent. The fee is between 1,000 to 2,500 Rs.
2. PG AND ADVANCED DIPLOMA- The students must have done bachelor’s degree and the fee is Rs 7,500.
3. DIPLOMA – Eligibility is 10+2 and the fee structure is Rs 15,00 to 3,000.
