School of Continuing Education (SOCE), is a course provided by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). This school provides a wide variety of courses through Open Distance Learning (ODL) at the doorstep of the learners. Their vision is to promote lifelong learning to fulfill the professional, vocational and educational knowledge of the learners and also promote inclusive and sustainable development.
After completing their formal education, adults often continue their education through a programme known as continuing education. Seminars, online classes, and full degree programmes are all different types of learning environments. This is viewed as a fantastic chance to acquire a variety of different skills and achieve holistic growth. Both online and offline methods are used to accept applications for admission. At the time of admission, the students must remember to fill out only the real and accurate information.

With the introduction of new Schools, many subjects were relocated. Currently, SOCE presents the following four courses assigned by the Academic Council:
1. Rural Development: This course is important to understand the developmental stages and issues of rural areas. The programs studied in the curriculum are mentioned below

1.4. Ph.D. In Rural Development
1.5. Master of Arts in Rural Development

2. Nutritional Sciences: this course is devoted to the combination of the study of human nutrition and expertise in public nutrition. The courses offered by this program are given as under:

2.2. M.Sc in Dietetics and Food Management
2.3. Nutrition for the Community
2.4. Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education
2.5. Certificate in Food and Nutrition
3. Child Development: This program is committed to child development, the study of childhood and human development with particular attention on the early childhood years, their courses are as follows:
3.1. Certification in Nutrition and Child care
3.2. Diploma in early childhood care and education
3.3. Organising child care and services
3.4. PG diploma in Counseling and Family Therapy
3.5. M.Sc in Counseling and Family Therapy
4. Home Science: this is a new course added to the School of Continuing Education- SOCE. This course introduces the concept of new career paths for the students such as Community resource management and extension and apparel and fabric sciences. The programs offered are given below:
4.1. Ph.D. In-Home Science
4.2. Diploma in Event Management.

Rural Development and Women’s Education were the first two programmes offered by the School of Continuing Education (SOCE), and these were later separated into programmes like Rural Development, Disability, Child Development, Nutrition, Food Safety, and Dietetics, as well as Youth and Development Works, which later came to be known as the important areas of concern.
