IGNOU Regional Centre at Kohima was established on 14th December 2000. Indira Gandhi national open university opens its another regional center in Kohima in the State of Nagaland which started on 14th December 2000. The main of the university opening this regional center is to provide educational development to the candidates of naval and who are unable to get the services of education in their state.
IGNOU Kohima Regional Centre
A huge building measuring 25×75 was constructed under the Backward Region Development Fund for the exclusive use of the university’s study center; it was done by the local MLA. Secondly, the regional center has organized and conducted six short training programs of 2-4 days duration on Hygienic Meat Production and Processing, Integrated farming system, organic farming, horticulture, rainwater harvesting, and watershed management in rural areas to generate employment, educate students and so on. Third, the regional center also conducted a seminar on the Training of Un-trained Teachers in North East India. Fourth, the regional center conducted a workshop based on How to develop study skills and knowledge for the North East Students. Last but not least on the initiative taken by the regional center the State Government has allotted 8.3 acres of land for the construction of IGNOU regional center Kohima which is one of the biggest achievements.

This regional center has a wider network of learner support for the candidates of northeast India along with the candidates who live in Sikkim. Along with 6 new regional centers of this university started at Shillong along with Guwahati this study center is at the center of the state. Every year a list of candidates make their enrollment with this regional center of the university. Along with the university provide various facilities likewise it has 15 regular study center along with 3programmecentre. The number of this center can be changed. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
On the university’s official website, the application forms are made available in an online format. Only the online form and the minimal application fee must be filled out and submitted by individuals who are interested in enrolling in the particular course.
