IGNOU is one of the largest Open Universities in the World which provides admission to various courses. There are approximately 4 million students studying in this University. It has been declared as the largest Institution for higher education by UNESCO. It has been accredited with A++ grade by NAAC and have been approved by UGC. The admissions are taken in the form of 2 cycles conducted in the months of January and July. The admissions for the month of January are open and for the July session, the admissions have already been done as of now.
The School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS) was established in 2007 with the aim to provide extension studies i.e. economic, social and human development by offering Certificate Diplomas, Post-Graduate Diploma and Degrees in the above subjects. The School of Extension and Development Studies’ main objective was to offer top-notch education and training in various areas of extension and development studies, such as economic, social, and human development, by offering programmes leading to the award of Certificates, Diplomas, Post Graduate Diplomas, and Post-Graduate Degrees in pertinent subjects.
Master’s Degree:
- Master of Arts in Development Studies (MADVS)
• The main objective is to provide knowledge on various aspects of developmental studies and to develop in implementation, and formulation of various projects.

• Eligibility: Fresh Graduates/ Civil Servants/ Employees of social institutions

2. Master of Arts in Extension & Development Studies (MAEDS)
• The objective is to provide knowledge in the area of Extension and Development Studies and to enhance skills in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of programmes.
• Duration: 2 years
• Eligibility: Graduate Candidates
• Course Fee: Rs. 9,000 for full course
PG and Advanced Diploma:
- PG Diploma in Animal Welfare (PGDAW)
• The objective is to provide science-based knowledge on animal welfare, ethics, and laws and to make them capable of taking social decisions on animal welfare.

2. Post-Graduate Diploma in Development Studies (PGDDVS)
• The objective is to train and provide knowledge on various aspects of developmental studies.

4. post-Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning Development (PGDUPDL)
• India is 2nd largest urban country in the world with more than 30% population and has certain problems such as poverty, transportation, unemployment, etc. The main objective is to provide deeper knowledge about urban development and its problems.

5. Post Graduate Diploma in Extension and Development Studies (PGDEDS)
• The objective is to provide deeper knowledge on various aspects and issues of extension and development programmes.

- Diploma in Value Education (DPVE)
• The objective is to create awareness to implant positive values among teachers, students, professionals, etc. and to develop social responsibilities among NGOs and organizations.

Certificate :
- Certificate Programme in Value Education (CPVE)
• The programme is to create awareness and interest in implanting positive values in different sections of society.

ADMISSIONS
