Fee Structure for MA Sanskrit in ODL Mode: Rs.13,200/- for the full programme to be paid year wise Rs. 6,600/- Fee to be paid in the first year is Rs. 6800/- including a registration fee of Rs. 200.

This programme exposes learners to a wide range of Sanskrit Language & literature. It consists of courses worth 64 credits. The programme can be completed in a minimum period of two years and a maximum period of four years.
Launch of MA in Sanskrit through ODL by IGNOU
The launch of the MA programme in Sanskrit through Open and Distance mode (ODL) by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was developed and designed with the support of distinguished scholars and academic consultation in different disciplines of Sanskrit. The attendees appreciated the efforts of the university for promoting India’s ancient language and hoped that with its launch will help Sanskrit get its rightful place in Indian universities its right place in Indian universities. Sanskrit scholar and former Vice-Chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Radhavallabh Tripathi called for the need to include the modern Sanskrit works in the syllabi.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the launch was done via e-gathering through Google meet and was broadcasted live on Facebook and the university’s internet-based channel- Gyan Dhara. Eminent scholars of Sanskrit language and literature attended including Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Pankaj Lakshman Jani, vice-chancellor, Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain, Gangadhar Panda, Kolhan University, Jharkhand, Radhavallabh Tripathi, Former Vice-Chancellor, Rajaram Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Balkrishna Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Vikram University, Ujjain and Devi Prasad Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar.
Addressing the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Nageshwar Rao talked about the binding nature of Sanskrit and how it connects India and its rich knowledge which is exclusively available in this language. He adds about the immense potential that it offers to aspirants in terms of prospects and hopes that Sanskrit would get its much-needed boost and be taken up as a preferred choice by many students with the collective efforts of everyone.
The Vice-Chancellor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Ramesh Kumar Pandey says it is a celebratory moment for the language and us as this would help in the propagation of language and our culture. He added that the multimedia material of programmes has the same aspect and is not less in any way from regular programmes.
Vice-Chancellor, Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain, Pankaj Lakshman said that this will provide opportunities to learners from all over India irrespective of their mother-language and would enable them to benefit from the rich literature of Sanskrit.
2024 ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The candidates must first use the internet to access the university portal.
They will receive the otp on the registered cellphone phones after logging in and enrolling by supplying the pin credentials.
This procedure is carried out to guarantee accuracy. The students must then complete the application forms that have been made available by the university. If they want to submit their applications offline, they must download and print the forms. In order to assess the reliability of the information the students submit in their applications, the authorities may also ask them for certain supporting paperwork.The applicant must pay the application fee using a credit/debit card or a net banking system to signal the end of the process.
The student must keep the fee proof for future use after all of this.
