The Indira Gandhi national open university (IGNOU) established a regional centre in the state of Jharkhand state in the year 26th march 2011 the main aim of this regional centre was built because of a better administration, monitoring, along with student support system as well as want to give education to the local population of the states. The regional centre started to reach out to the rural areas to spread education and benefit their students. Another important task was empowering women to enrol themselves in the distance learning programme to achieve their goals. Other initiatives taken by the regional centre were promotional activities through phone counselling for admission, announcements in local Churches, placement drive programmes and systematic orientation of student support centre staff. Dates for Admission – Admissions for the January term of 2024 have begun, and a deadline will be forthcoming. The last day for admission may change, though, depending on the course. Anyone interested in applying for admission should do so before the deadline via the IGNOU Online admission portal. Candidates are shortlisted for admission based on their marks in the qualifying degree for the majority of the IGNOU courses the University offers. All applicants will take a special entrance test for the course, and candidates will be chosen based on their performance.
IGNOU Deoghar
This regional centre is known as the second regional centre in the state of Jharkhand and Ranchi. This regional centre covers 7 seven along with 26 districts of the Jharkhand region.
This Jharkhand regional centre covers the jurisdiction area of six districts which cover Santhal Parganas division the states which are covered Deoghar, dumka, sahebganj, godda, pakur, jamtara along with one district of north Chota Nagpur division giridih.
IMPORTANT UPDATES
The application procedure for some courses for the January session has been started by IGNOU. The application deadline is till December 2024. The re-registration for the same has also been started and must be completed by December 2024. The assignment must be submitted before November 2024.
As of right now, the final application deadline for the programmes offered by this regional centre is set for January 31, 2024, and any subsequent revisions will be announced on the center’s official website. Depending on the courses the students choose, the tuition ranges from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000. The nursing programme entrance exam is scheduled for January 8, 2024.
